This is how clueless you are. Minimal dates back to 90's detroit's second wave of producers, Robert Hood and Daniel Bell. To say "Domino" was the most minimal track of 2005... I can't even come up with a comparison for the stupidity.
All you old butthurt trance dweebs forget the fact that we all came here for trance but there is absolutely no policy against us discussing other music. And that's what we all like now, other music, because luckily unlike you herbs we're not stuck in 2002.
Do your homework before you speak and get to catching up, or cut off your internet connection and go lock yourself somewhere with your trance for the rest of your miserable life.

This is hilarious. Who cares what music others like? Taste is subjective, I don't see the need to bash others for it. I think it's ok to say stuff like "trance is dead," etc. if you feel that, but you know there will always be different inclinations toward different music. That said, it's rather hard to fathom how a person can still only enjoy the same type of music they did many years ago, unless it's mainly for nostalgia. To each their own, though.
Maybe when one matures more/finds some fulfillment in their life, they'll see the futility in vehemently arguing a point across using every possible epithet just to prove the other person wrong. Until then, stay thirsty, my friends. |

I find it a bit strange that you're "touched almost spiritually" by music that you admit is "very simple, upbeat and somewhat cheesy". Perhaps that says something about your spirit, or about mine.
But setting that aside, it's pretty embarrassing to watch you lecture a Berghain denizen about how to be a "club DJ" and then give him 15 year old proggy trance as examples of what he should be playing. There are so many levels to your ignorance that you can't even comprehend, but you have the amazing arrogance that can only come from someone living in a place like Minneapolis, where listening to anything other than Taylor Swift makes you downright bohemian.
Trance is dead. You might get ten genuinely great tracks a year if you're lucky. This forum is 50% an appreciation society for a vanquished sub-culture, and 50% everyone just talking about the stuff they like now they've moved on. That's why the place is a tomb. If people like me left just because we didn't love trance according to your high-demand spec, it'd be even more deserted than it is now. |

I have been listing long enough to know that you can't change someone's taste. Also you can like several very different genres at the same time. Do you think many close around me in the 90's liked trance by Emmanuel Top or Taucher? To me it was natural that most have a different taste.
I think of all people I use IMO most here, just because I want to make clear that it's only my opinion and I respect if someone likes music I don't like that much. I pisses me off when people reply like if their opinion is the only right one, it is very disrespectful.

You also seem to have a problem with reading. Where did I say in the MD we can only discuss trance? We can discuss anything music related here, but the writing off of trance at a trance forum the way some here do is ridiculous and making people go away right after they joined. Those should be ashamed especially when it concerns youngsters. It's good some old folks or people who started listening old stuff as well post it here regularly as we need to keep it alive some way, and yes also the cheesy hard stuff belongs to that.
