cmon aaron no need for the ing gay drama lets be real and hold your comments when they are too outlandish...especially since you only started getting in this scene not too long ago...so try and be reserve when you say to people cuz afterall your talk, your just as new to the scene as anyone else, i remember when dave told me to take you around in miami last year so dont ing act like you been in this scene for a long time.

ok so my review...besides a happy happy birthday to my girl liz and all my dearest friends, dj tek, and the fam it was great to see everyone out...daniela what a surprise especially when i asked u if u was coming *shakes fist* stassi where was you? nice seein scotty and alex, and rick, and the usual suspekts representing. i wasnt too fond of pauls set and the filler started to kill me...towards the end of the night around 6amish, paul started bringing back the classic bangers, affinity, i feel you, black eight, yadda yadda, just wasnt picking it back up for me....but froms scotty's list, i see UNDERWORLD - BORN SLIPPY and i wonder, maybe i shoulda closed the night out...FFS i have never heard pvd play that live, and i missed it..and i regret not staying....
shoutous to everyone i met, decibel, lisa (party aminal) and the rest of the gang. i hope everyone had a great time

as a matter of fact we'll never know :nervous:

and the truth is DJs HATE spinning with cds to the extent that some make sure that they always have a vinyl on the deck just in case...... it seems that cds have a bigger tendency to screw up in club environments go figure why :conf: :wtf:
pvd420
hey everyone...

been reading this forum for over a year now and just got around to setting up a username so i could post here.

well i was glad first off to get in after getting shut out in feb. i thought the energy comming from the crowd had it's high and low points friday. it seemed that paul started off a little slow (probably just making the transition from diaz's set), and then he was dropping nice tracks left and right after that.

as for the comments about him not playing club attack, and nothing but you anymore, i for one would be dissapointed if that happened. i like to hear new tracks just as much as anyone else, but for the amount of money i am paying to hear pvd, i want to hear the songs that have become classics to me and really got me into pvd as well.

as hard as i tried to get into the progressive stuff he played from around 4:30 till 6ish, i just couldnt do it. unfortunately the break i took then completely sucked the energy out of me and even when he picked up the pace later on i tried to dance but couldnt do much.

hearing born slippy was def one of the highlights of the night for me. i didnt really care for dark beat because as someone already stated, you could go out on a regular night and hear mainstream tracks like that.

after letting the overall experience soak in i am satisfied with pretty much all of the tracks he played, i think had they been played in a different order might have given the night more flow.

anyways i just wanted to say hi to everyone here. i had been posting on sicktracks for a couple of years till i found this site. i have to say that it is a much more pleasant experience to read the threads on this site (less profanity, and more respect to each other) and i'll be posting a lot from now on.

that's not really true jdat, just a generalization... djs all have different opinions on that and pvd doesn't mind spinning cds.. u ask him what he prefers, he would say neither.. he admits to playin an equal amount of cds and vinyls..

btw, hello pvd420! so glad you started posting.. i won't say anything about sicktracks :nervous: hehe.. i'm from jersey too! glad u had a good time last nite :toothless
PVD fanatic
Let's all face one thing....

We ALL payed good money to goto the Roxy that friday night. WHY? Because it was PVD? And why did we all go knowing that we might possibly have to brave a 4 block long line? Because it was PVD. And WHY dont we even after a possibly "disappointing" night, would we ALL go back if he came back the following week?

BECAUSE IT'S PVD......

There's a reason why he's got such a huge following. And why he's been part of the top 4 djs in the world the last 5 years....

BECAUSE IT'S PVD.....:stongue: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

Well, what can I say, I LOVED Pvd's performance on friday, it was my 1st time at PvD, and definately one of the best shows I've been to.
I'm glad I went and the $44 were def. worth it, it was AMAZING. I agree he got kind of boring between 4-5:30 and again at around 7, but I still enjoyed it. End the end I was so tired I could barely move, but as soon as he put Born Slippy on, I couldn't resist myself and had to get movin' again :toothless
Hope to meet more TA's next time :)

hah... to be honest, the vocals sounded a lot like Antoine's from Second Sun. so i would not doubt this is pvd vs. second sun track :toothless :toothless :toothless

ok...

wow, after reading these reviews i'm wondering if we were at the same party!!!

have to admit, the montreal set was very dissapointing. it was only 2 hours, should have been 3.5, and there seemed to be a lack of flow. lots of new tracks played, great tracks too, but just didn't enjoy the night. think it had something to do with aria. the crowd sucked. they like their drugs too much and don't care about the tunes. if i had been paul, i would have left too.

took a little 'detour' out of canada, didn't get to nyc till 5:30, just barely made it to virgin records for the signing.

HUGE THANKS to CHOOBAK and COMPANY for letting me borrow a vinyl to get in!! so i finally got a 'normal' picture with paul...
:D

my friend and i got to roxy at 2am, no line whatsoever. AND paul had just arrived at the club as well. we said hi to him before entering the club.
:D

didn't see too many TAs until maybe 2 hours into the set, tom found me and brought be over to where a few were. i dunno, i was having the time of my life. 6 hours have never passed so quickly. paul was relentless, track after track...killer! no, it wasn't cheese 'hands in the air trance', if you want that, go see armin or tiesto. paul played a set on friday which imo defines exactly what he is all about. you can't label the tracks he plays. it's not trance, it's not house, it's not progressive, it's ELECTRONIC DANCE MUSIC guys! what does paul say he spins?? bingo...

6 hours of QUALITY tracks, no sleepers, A LOT OF SURPRISES!!

one of my highlights:
PARIS & HEALEY - RIPPED, the track that went "and now at low frequency...and now at high frequency" SICK

SPACEBROTHERS-EVERYWHERE I GO (PvD MIX)

UNDERWORLD - BORN SLIPPY
i cried, i really did...

the entire stinking night...insane!! the BEST i've ever heard paul spin. he was dancing around so much in the booth, so happy, never seen him that animated in the states before.

and the crowd, reminded me so much of the twilo days. EVERYONE was dancing, smiling, having fun. at one point during nothing but you (the first time) i looked around the club, and EVERYONE had their hands up in the air and were jumping. incredible. absolutely incredible. even met one guy at the end with a "i love twilo" shirt, came all the way from israel for the gig. he showed me his twilo card signed by paul, said he's been travelling over here to see paul since the twilo days.

for all TAs not in attendance, you missed the best party of the year to date.

another HUGE THANKS to: ALEX-for the vinyl, THANK YOU SO MUCH! :D great id'ing tracks with you too...

DENNIS - the signed nothing but you single. :eyespop: i still can't begin to thank you enough.

great seeing all TAs out, and meeting a lot of new ones too!
:D

see *some* of you the next time paul is in town.

Wow, I really sound like a complete dick huh? Its too bad that i didn't even have access to a computer all of yesterday and didn't write any of that. How someone logged on under my name is unknown to me and am not gonna waste time trying to figure it out. I haven't been able to post for a while for some reason but finally figured out a way to get back on. I would spend time dwelling on the issue trying to figure out why someone would take the time to do that but I'll just say to whoever did it, ing grow up and get a life and most importantly quit trying to create drama because no one especially me has the time or inclination to deal with it. To all those who found my post offensive, please disregard... just a simple case of someone trying to be funny or trying to brighten their completely miserable life by creating drama on here. The thing that upsets me the most is not that they made me look like an but rather that someone used my name to talk on PvD, def a big no no.

Anyway, on a much happier and not so surprisng note... I loved Paul's set on Friday (#10 for me). He started out strong and let up a little bit playing some prog, techno, breaks... I wasn't going completely nuts at that point but was definitely grooving to it. Towards the end though I couldn't go fast enough or dance hard enough. The highlight (other than dancing with my baby all night to PvD) was when he went from Animacion, to Out There and Back (favorite PvD tune), and then to Syanthesia... Holy I flipped the out. Talked to a lot of people who left early and said the night was bleh, so glad I stayed til the end because he definitely rewarded the faitful ones. That's all for now. Peace
