ok so i just read on another board that that vocal may be called:

Paul van Dyk vs. Second Sun - Velvet Horn [Vandit Acetate]

Any truth to that?

Wow...after reading all these posts about PVD i felt i had to write something. I'm from Los Angeles and a huge fan of PVD for the past 4 years and i cant believe all the negativity that many people are writing.

First off, i envy NY because he always plays for about 6 hours which is double what he does in the westcoast and im sure during those hours he gives you everything in his arsenal. I've seen him 5 times this year including LA twice, SF, SD, and Vegas and every set was impressive especially in SF when he played nearly 5 hours. PVD's style is unique and every time ive heard him he makes you just wanna dance that's why he labels his stuff EDM and not just trance, house, progressive, breaks, or any specific genre but an eclectic mix of all sounds.

I wish PVD would play longer than 3 hours here in LA so that i can hear, like someone posted before, the "journey" he takes you on because the short sets he does over here in the west are just teasers and makes you beg for more. I hope to make a trip to NY sometime in the near future and would love to meet other PVD fanatics that appreciate him for his unique style and ability to make one dance but not rip on him because he didnt play one specific genre.

Its great to see those that did enjoy PVD's set, had a great time. When he was in Vegas the wed before NY, he had the place bangin with alot of hard Nu-NRG trance which one of my DJ friends alluded me to.

From a PVD fanatic on the westcoast and wishing there was as huge a TA following as there is on the east...

The highlight (other than dancing with my baby all night to PvD) was when he went from Animacion, to Out There and Back (favorite PvD tune), and then to Syanthesia... Holy I flipped the out.

he played those in that order? :eyes::eyes::eyes:

back in the day he used to play the most wonderful, uplifting, and energetic sets with crazy buildups! now he started mess'n around with that progressive sounds... and thats not what his sound is(IMO). i really hope he doesnt try to make any hard progressive tracks... thats when i will stop listening to trance/electronic music all together. BRING THE OLD PVD BACK!!! gosh.. i remember the good old twilo nights when PVD just blew everyone away. and another thing.... if hard progressive/trance is your forte, u will go see sander, umek or maybe even marco v ... but def. not PVD... well now i guess that has changed a bit.

dude, pvd's twilo sets always got hard as , and that is why they blew me away. he was always open to playing techno and progressive and other styles of music.... in fact, he has said in an interview that is why he liked the twilo crowd, because they were receptive to wherever he took them....pvd does not like crowds that demand uplifting trance only. he never claimed to be an uplifting trance dj!!!! to all of those that loved this night, i know why!! to those that were at space last month, i thought THAT was still on another level!! as for hoping for energy??? MY GOD!!! what on earth were you talking about?!?! the energy of the music was through the roof. the crowd was there but their energy was not always... pvd's was! he was playing the most energetic he had in his box (eg. second song from last weeks global dj broadcast set on 93.1). it was a sick night. im sorry to you people that only want to hear trance... i love trance too, but pvd has a lot more to offer than that, and it would never be known if he was only playing uplifting trance and predictable tunes all the way through.

I'm really starting to like Roxy as a venue to see Paul at too -- its always comfortably filled, but with room to dance, not too hot, and the lasers/lights seem to be gettin' better too. God, if every PVD experience could be like Friday night was, Id only bother going to see him in NYC from now on. Absolute perfection.

OMFGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG PVD was unbelievable. i literally felt like i was dreaming the whole night! this was only my second time seeing him, but i loved how he jumped from real crazy and upbeat in the beginning and then to more deep, dark progressive tracks...then back again to bangin classics. this night was definitely one of the best nights of my life. i don't hink there was even one song i didnt remoltely love. i was never so die hard for paul before, but after this set, how can i not be now!!

it was a pleasure meeting a lot of the NY TA's. the beautiful PPR girls were so sweet- daniela, bri, lisa and it was good putting some other faces to names.

as for stringfelowhawk (aaron's) post, that is such nonsense. he was with me the whole weekend ;) and he'd have to be smoking crack with a gun to his head to ever say pvd sucks. whoever wrote that- stop living vicariously through my baby. :toothless
