Guinness is good, but there's much better to be had than that. I'm mostly German, so I guess that's where I inherited my taste for beer. :) I don't know any German folk songs though as my family's been in the U.S. for like 8 generations now.
If you want an incredibly good and amazingly strong (12-18%abv) Stout, try Dogfishhead's "World Wide Stout!" It'll surprise ya! |

Dogfishhead is quality, also for that high punch try Victory's V-12 beer. The name says it all...

Neither release's label provides its abv, however, the November, 2001 release (18%) displays the unaltered words "Vim and Vigor" on the label while the November, 2003 U.S. release (18.8%) does not. The phrase "Vim and Vigor" is crossed out only on the November, 2002 release (23%), which is not rated under this listing. WorldWide Stout is one of the world's strongest dark beers. It is brewed using six different yeast strains over seven months and then aged for half a year. Dark, rich, roasty, and complex, World Wide Stout has more in common with a fine port than a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer (released in early winter with very limited availability). |

hi everyone :) last night wasn't too much trouble, i met my brother's new girl who is awesome. he's had some bad ones, so this makes me happy. pretty uneventful night, i insisted on going to breakfast when we left which was absolutely amazing.
tonight will be a high school reunion downtown, which tends to be excruciating but i have stuff to brag about so i'm looking forward to it. muahahaha! yes, i know it's silly. i think i'm going to drive downtown to keep me from drinking too much because last year i didn't make it home and my mom wasn't pleased when i showed up hungover at 830 thanksgiving morning... oops. |

Tomorrow at 9am i have the Turkey Bowl. For the last 5 years we always have a football game (my mates from highschool that I see maybe 3 times a year total with Turkey day being one). Im gonna crush those kids so bad BWAHHAHAAHHAA

22 oz bomber of the 2003 release served slightly chilled in a Trois Pistoles goblet.
Appearance: Hazy dark ruby liquor topped with a scanty beige head that's quite short lived. Smallish bits of lace are left on the glass.
Smell: Glorious grapefruit, pine, pepper, circus peanut candy, and caramel malt aromas. Nicely pungent. I also caught a mildly soapy smell once or twice.
Taste: Painfully bittersweet initial assault followed by some raisiny caramel malt sweetness. Lingering pine aftertastes. Alcohol flavors lurk menacingly in the background, packing heat.
Mouthfeel: Slight burning sensation as this goes down, but it's quite pleasant. Bracing and heavy in body, this is reminiscent of a really really hoppy barleywine in feel.
Drinkability: This is sadistically good. Almost everything about this beer is meant to challenge to the worthy and punish the unworthy. I admit I experienced both in equal measure, but I kept coming back for more. This is probably the beer equivalent of Joyce's "Ulysses," and I mean that as a compliment. |
