well back to the topic....i bet you were underweight and you gained weight. I lost 42 pounds (at last check i guess..2 months ago btw)...i don't have a working scale in my house...then again...i've gone from overweight to normal...well not quite at my target...but my doc says it will take 6 months to lose the remaining 10 pounds...to hit 170 as my target

how did i do that
cut out beer
cut out salty foods
i watch caloric intake (about 1,200 a day...i try...sometimes I need more..depending on my physical activity)

hell if orbax wanted to bulk up then let him. Most ppl are underweight or overweight. If he is not harming his body and he is in better shape because of it, all the power to him. I do have problems with people who over do it but let's face it, most ppl are not in shape.

actually here is a question:

How to gain weight healthily? I eat and eat and eat and EAT and cant break past 168lbs for more than a day. I have a couple of whey protein shakes a day mixed with a yogurt and soy milk.

heres my daily meals

morning

1 apple
2 cups of tea
toasted bagel with butter
5 slices of turkey rolled up with a slice of cheese
1 yogurt

lunch

1 apple
meat sammich on toasted bread. cheese. lettuce. no condiments.
aforementioned protein shake mix

mid day

top ramen cuz im hungry and dont want anything solid to ruin workout at 4pm :D

Dinner

Chicken stirfry with 2 eggs some cheese,green beans, peppers, onions, teryaki sauce.

Protein shake

after dinner

2-12 beers (maybe some vodka too)

10pm +

munchies hit:
apple
yogurt
bagel w/butter
maybe some nachos using Avacado chips mmmmm

and i LOSE weight on this!!!!

i mean..i watch calories...tho I bet my caloric intact is larger than I think.

The more activity you do, the more calories your body needs. If you want to gain weight, salty snacks normally do it

2-12 beers (180 calories a piece)...hence why I quit it

Add more salty foods to your diet (tho i caution you...it could have more problems)

your body is at the ideal weight...at when you hit that....you find it harder to gain and lose weight. I'd stay at 168 with all your eating....most ppl would love that.

I always find eating bigger portions than normal is the best method to bulking. And 6 meals a day, instead of 3 meals and intermittent snacking. You want to throw some fat into your diet as well. Saturated fats are of course bad, but it's alright to have fat in your diet since you're so active. Walnuts are a good example. They are a good source of protein but also have a decent percentage of fat. Any nuts are good, as long as they're unsalted.

Here is my average consumption (Everything you see here is in big portions).

Morning:
-Oatmeal (real oatmeal, not the you buy in a box) mix it with applesauce. Yummy!

Lunch:
-Chicken Stir Fry & Broccoli before work out
-Clif Bar & Protein Shake after work out

Then have classes all afternoon so can't eat

Dinner:
-Varies. Usually some form of meat, some form of starch and veggies. Lately I've not been eating any starches, only Chicken/Turkey & Veggies.
-Protein Shake

After Dinner: (This is where I get so damn hungry)
-Can of Tuna mixed with half a can of Chick Peas mixed together with one teaspoon of Mayo.
-Can of Peaches
-Yogurt
-Sometimes Eggs & Bacon

Been cutting out the eggs and bacon lately because I was gaining TOO much weight.

you can take in more calories while keeping the same rate of fat storage by separating carbs from the fat in your meals. simply put, the carbs cause insulin response and the insulin carries the fat into the cells... so theoretically eating fat only with protein will reduce fat storage

this is not only theory, it works really well. another thing to consider is that carb metabolism is best early in the day, so carb up early, and at night have stuff like steak and salad, or a low carb shake with oil in it...
