literally, tear it apart, I want criticism. | definition. I think that you look just plain "big" (note the quotation marks, you certainly aren't huge..well i think you know what i mean) but you lack a bit of definition. The thing that strikes me first is that your rip-cage is showing, but that is the only thing that is really well defined. I think you might want to invest some time in 'cutting' (i heard it being referred to as that) your muscle especially your shoulders/ chest.
then again, apart from having a set of eyes, i am completely unqualified to make any judgement in this area :D |

OK, my turn :D
i used to play high level soccer, and did boxing training for 2 months, i was in great shape, ive been outa all that for about a year, but just now i have jioned an awsome gym and started to workout 3-5 times a week.
i wiegh 175, im 5'9, ive got a bit of a belly but i am by no means fat ( ill try and get a body fat % soon)
i want to define my body so that i look in shape and reletively strong, im not working out to get HUGE. i figured that im to heavy for my height so i have been doing cardio for about 20-30 minutes at the start of every session. i burn about 400 calories doing this
so should i stop doing this to burn the fat? and let my muscle mass increase as i workout?
i just want to get a nice defined figure, get rid of the belly i have and just look like im in slightly-above average shape |

pics or stfu!
also cardio at the beginning just means you cant work out as hard. Lean muscle mass burns more calories than cardio. an hour of lifthing wieghts will burn 400-500. running burns 900 an hour. So i would find an RMR calc and see what you need to burn to balance out the diet. then eat protein and cut out fat |

Do some bench, and then do more bench. Flat bench, incline, decline with bar, then repeat with bells. I never do fly's, I just do bench and cable. To round out your pecs, I suggest working decline bench and do this with cables: Lower the cables all the way to the ground, stand in the center and grip with with the top of your hand pointing at the ground. Start at your sides and bring them up together about chest-high. This will work the bottom of your pecs, to get that rounded look. I've always had problems building my pecs, especially my inner & bottom pecs. I try to focus on these exercises more than flat bench because a lot of exercises will work your outer pec.
For triceps I highly recommend skullcrushers. Grab a curl bar, throw on maybe 25 pounds on each side until you get accustomed to the motion. Lay on an open flat bench, with your head slightly off the edge, or right at the edge, whatever is more comfortable (If you're off the edge you'll get a better stretch but can hurt your back). Bring the weight up above your head, lower it back underneath the bench, then bring it back up until your arms are straight. If you're looking straight up, you don't want to see the curl bar, because if you bring it up that far you're taking away a lot of the workout. Keeping it positioned behind your head will keep the resistance on your tricep. You want your arms fully extended at about a 60* angle.
The rope as someone mentioned is really good, too. I do a lot of tricep work on cables. Single arm and double. But your triceps aren't bad, so I don't know why I'm digressing!
As for abs, leg lifts as Vivid described are the best for your lower abs. Also, if someone is there with you, do this: Your partner stands up, you lay down with your shoulders at his feet and hold onto his ankles. Bring your legs up and have him push them down, straight, to the right and left, mix it up. Keep your legs from hitting the ground and bring them right back up. These will kill you after a while!
Also with a partner, get on a decline bench with a 10lb medicine ball. Have your partner stand in front of you and throw the medicine ball to you; straight, and to each side, mix it up. Catch the ball as you're going back, then throw the ball back as you come up. Gives me a ing headache but works out your abs great. I have no abs atm because I'm at the end of a bulk session. =\ Haven't done cardio in months, lol. Have to start though, I'm getting a beer pouch, up to 190 already. :(
Like I said, try and work your inner pecs more, unless you really squeeze fly's at the center, you're mainly working the outside of your pec.
As an example of a routine, this is what I do. I don't have much time to work out, so I only work each muscle group once a week.
Saturday: Chest, Back
Tuesday: Legs, Abs, Shoulders
Thursday: Bi's & Tri's
Bigger muscles (Chest) need more time to heal, I wouldn't do chest more than twice a week if that. If you're working them hard you'll be too sore to even do them more than that, so you'll know if you're doing it right. Smaller muscle groups (abs, tri's) you can do 3 maybe 4 times a week. I try and hit each group really hard since I only spend one day a week on them. If I'm not sore the next day, I didn't work out hard enough.
Phew, hope that helps. |

| It all depends on what you want Orbax, but I think you look fine. Just work on your abs. :p |

sexy beast! hehe. keep working out, and you'd be better off getting advice from someone who you see at the gym, who is ripped, but also seems like they are working every muscle in their body, for instance, not just their upper body.

Im kinda pissed right now, i really wanna jump back in and do my carzy workouts, but this shoulder injury makes me half-ass chest work outs. s'killin me!

| How do I get rid of tendanitis in both arms? It was hurting really bad like a year ago, but even now when I lift a case of beer for example I feel the pain again. Anything I can do about it? |
