| Ohhh come on ...thats what these Forums are for..to discuss our opinions on djs and whatever.... so dont think u dont have any opinion on any dj out there..... ... i dont hate Oakie or his style.....but call me immature for saying ....he makes twice as much as any other dj ..making 30 grand for a few hours..... and having the set be 90% identical then a set i download 2 month earlier... and its not like it was a One month period...a guy that getting 30 grand from aplace ....should do something more special with the set to fit the crowd ...and not played a staged set from where he is used to all cues and just put record on and the other and not really readying the crowd..... and that what really pisses me off!!! about him.... i seen him 3 times......the first time was pretty good...second wasnt all that ...third was alright but it was so cued up...... he might as well just recorded at home before he came and brought the tape in and let it play and just wave to the crowd...... and from what i got with PVD and TIESTO ..is that each set was for the crowd and i got that feeling from there sets but i couldnt from oakies........ mayb oakie does play the crowd and i cant tell...but for me it felt like a pre made set ...and for the money hes getting just makes me not like him so much...i know i know who wouldnt take the money but comeone atleast give us something in return thats worth it somewhat....... and mayb its the clubs and venues fault to hire him for that money....but its mainly this Oakie was kinda the first big Uk name to come to the US...and thats why his name is so big here..but when u go to europe Oakie isnt that popular .... mayb only in the UK....thats my opinion u can call me Immature or Iggnorant ..but i cant change the way i feel so ohh well |

| Rather than explaining all these points and saying "every DJ does that," , prove to us that he's so EXCEPTIONAL and GREAT... What you've just done is portray Oakenfold as a pedestrian middle-of-the-road DJ. Oh, and insulted a few people. |

yah i bitch and moan too much, i admit, but i need to vent myself.
i go to the record store once a week and look for new records. and all over i find these oakenfold remixes that are the damn neatest sounding records iv heard to date. and i see THE MAN live, expecting some amazing that he wont release and just plays live. what do i get? the ing meet her at the love parade remix and a bunch of songs i know by heart cuz theyv been played out a million times! |

I would have to disagree with this statement b/c Sasha and Digweed as well as PvD started playing in the U.S. and then established residencies while Oakey was stating "the U.S. is not ready for trance." |

**You Americans act so ignorant sometimes..Always judging, yelling, accusing, arguing, fighting. It's just music, this site (I've been watching for months, finally decided to post) is about enjoying trance. Sharing opinions, yes, but in my eyes opinions do not include hatred and forcefulness. I do not understand your need to repeatedly 'force' your opinions down on others, especially the ones who 'hate' someone..Continuously post this. I wish instead, to hear what you like rather than dislike. I think if people like push01, Eugene, and dazzed were more open, and kind, everyone would get along - which I believe was the whole point of trance in the first place**

saying Americans are ignorant ...makes u ignorant for saying that...so dont be ignorant either if thats what your trying to be ignorant about.... if u dont like people discussing about other djes then u dont have to respond to any of this.....im ignorant ill amitt sometimes but who cares hehehehe....but dont accuse someone being ignorant if what your saying is a Ignorant statment as well....thats just called being a hypocrite (TYPO)....
but anyway...arguing and sharing our opinions is essential for any thing in life to progress...... if no one shared there ideas and dislikes on certain things..then we cant change things for the better..... if everyone sees that Oakie isnt all that then mayb people will start talking and peoiple will stop paying him 30 grand for ty sets....that will force him to improve his sets and have more insite with the crowd...so i dont see why arguing or bickering over djs or certain things are nessesarly bad........ and its not like we are fighting our selfs...we are arguing about our views and thats not bad at all.... |

| If we ALL agree what would the point of having a forum????! Calling ALL Americans is VERY ignorant! Someone Please put forth an intelligent arguement why Oakenfold is a great DJ. My only explanation why anyone would think he's better than Tiesto or PVD is that haven't seen them or just new to the scene. Oakie's time has past. Playing the same old tunes in every city is uninspiring & unimpressive. :rolleyes: |
