today we were at an demonstration at the university headquater.
small introduction:
till now it was free in germany to study in state-university,
to make education independend and equal for every social origin.
only private colleges ofcourse raised there tuition fees per semster or month.
however a new bill over here kinda sets it free to every university/city itself to raise the tuition fees or not from their students. and our is one of the last free university around. and today all the senators and profs hold an pre-convention about the whole topic "tuition fees - yes or no - and why"-blabla at the headquarter, facing 1200-1500 (atleast what press said) demonstrating students/pupils...
at first it was very friendly and a few speeches were hold:

a few local tv station were also around:

one of the banners: "education is no service offer, its basic right!"

the stairs to the senators-hall where the convention should be held,
the university especially engaged at extern security company to lock everythung up except lobby, the woman swinging the finger said to me no photos... (she couldnt imagine that this would be her smallest problems a few hours later ;-)

more and more ppl came before the convention begun...

this guy was a hellraiser of a discourser!!!!
his arm was handicaped and he couldnt walk really well, but his words got the ppl like no others!!! [...]

[...] so much that all blocked the doors at the time the senators came who wanted to enter the headquarter for the convention (but it was still friendly tho)

with a small police-escort, the senators tried another door few hundred meters away at another building to reach the lobby thru an underground tunnel:

the police had to blockade the door and holding back a few students which followed the senators and take the same door:

in the meantime, other students which were left infront of the lobby stormed inside the lobby and broke thru the security lines, running up the stairs, straight to the senators-hall.

the security-company capitulated immidiatly, since they had no chance against a few hundreds "excited" stundents crossing their way...

infront of the senators-hall, they broke the lock and teared out the right door (which leans against the wall on the right side on the photo) to enter and interrupt the convention.

outside, the speeches continued.

"senats-hall" (mention the missing right-door lol)

a few profs that were late and wanted to take the stairs, who were not let passed. discussing with the stundents...

.... and try to "call" help ;)

a bunch of (how the radio stated later) 14 (!!!) police sixpack vans arrived, someone got the information by phone that they would enter the left wing from the castle, so the teared off door was used as a barricade along a few other massive objects, just like a waderobe and chairs etc.

everything was blocked, noone could come in or out...

only the press ;)

after 2 hours of anarchy and chaos, the convention was aborted and set to another date, with the promise, that next time, along the senators and profs, a elected amount of students will be holding the convention too, to represent all of us.

a few other obstacles from the barricade, the police didnt get to enter the door...

after the abortion, the whole thing was over and it started to rain, lol.

the castlte after the takeover:

a few of the police vans that arrived during the takeover:

...so, all in all it was alot of fun and action, and for a few seconds we felt like little cheguevara's. but however except the door and few security vs. punks intermezzos, nothing got really broke... :(
