well i honestly didnt know peopel purposely threw water on the floor until a few posts ago...

just wear shoes with less friction if u want to slip 'n' slide..like me..but noooooo everyone still wears runners which are designed to grip the floor like gum on a stick..

Exactly, i got no gripe if the floor naturally becomes slippery/sticky. Not much you can do about that, it's when people spill water all over the place that i have to wonder what the hell is going on. If you talk to most people they will agree, you don't need a slippery floor to be able to bust moves ( in fact, it's harder to really break out if you know there is less traction ). Think about it, would you want to go hard and bounce around if you were standing on a skating rink ?

I agree, a sticky floor doesn't help either...but honestly, i'd rather have a surface where i know i won't fall then something where you're worried about how high you kick cause you can feel your sneaks sliding against the surface.

I don't care what step you are doing -- if you do it right, you can do it on a normal, dry surface just as easily. Otherwise just get some hush puppies or shoes that have less traction to begin with like LKD says...wearing sneaks and then spilling water to get less traction is a wonderful example of a dance-oxymoron. ;)

the best floor I've ever come across is probably the plywood floor at stereo in montreal. It seems stupid, but the plywood absorbs all the liquids that it comes in contact with and gives you a good level of traction constantly. Plus, they have springs inderneath the floor [from what I've heard] to make it easier on the joints for dancing over long periods of time. I've recently become a convert of spilling the water on the dancefloor out of necessity, as I've found it makes it easier on my knees to go on for long times.

Seriously though... I dont care how someone dances as long as they are dancing. I cant stand wallflowers at clubs. If you dont go to dance go home (or go to a gino bar). Or if you are a music enthusiast go off to a good corner and listen and get out of the way of those who want to dance.

Once in a while...Jayx1 says the most amazing things...
I agree 100% btw...it's a pet peeve of mine too :whip:
