First off,
RJ, GREAT thread;), we needed it.

YES!!! Acting as if they know more or are better, yet appearing
MUCH LESS astute in the end.... Anyone have an OPEN-MIND?

I have NEVER thought of myself as better than ANYONE, and will NEVER
ridicule someone for their preferences.

I'm a HUGE trance fan, but i almost equally love progressive and house.
Why is that so rare? And most of all, the haters are PREDOMINATLY
prog-heads - which draws some conclusions....

BIG TIP: It NEVER hurts to RESPECT other's opinions.:happy2:

I dunno myself... but im used to it tho... i still iike euro alot, and ive just grown accustomed to getting flamed for it.

Meh... just rolls off me now... i dont worry about it. hardly ever bring it up around here bc of the reaction i get

I still like some old Euro too...in fact..the net was a great place to find stuff from 96-98.. especially some of the lesser known foreign producers that had no distribution here.. There is a lot of Euro, but there were some great old tunes - none of which should be confused with 'Freestyle' - ugh.

Don't worry about other people's reactions.. listen to what you enjoy - those that bitch about other's tastes make me laugh, what a waste of time.

Oh yea, 100% I wont let my music tastes be affect by the opinions of others. Although it often seems the "in thing" thing to do to hate euro... i LOVE IT STILL... its my roots and STILL love it... i can understand why ppl move away from it, which is fine, but it just seems once ppl move away from it, they like to bash the hell outta it too... oh well, no worries, im still having a great time. Just heard Special D - You on Euromix11 and it TOTALLY reconfirmed my love for the genre, tho i totally do prefer trance to it nowadays in general!

OMG! COnfusing "freestyle" gah!!!:wtf: with euro should be a crime! I am not a fan of freestyle at all. in fact, it very much gets on my nerves (i guess the way euro does for alot of ppl on here)

i love wayback playback euro tunes from back in tha day, esp. unknown ones that kinda sneak up on u from outta left field, and ur like OMG, thats AWESOME!!!!

1996 was HANDSDOWN the very BEST euro for euro IMO! All my old favourites pretty much came outta that year!!! that was it height if u ask me! Glad to see u can still enjoy it Swamper! its good having someone who at least partially can vibe with me on this matter! :D

NOTE: Favourite euro track of all time: LIA - PRIVATE FANTASY :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop:
Jayx1
It was all about the "DJ Mix" CDs. Didnt they stop somewhere around volume 30?

my two cents:
This, like most online forums dedicated to a single cause, seems to be littered with self-professed "hardcore" members that are intolerant of other's opinions. Personally, I could care less. It's the nature of the beast, and the general populace being fairly limited in their scope of thinking, if it could be called that. Personally, if I were to get shot down for something I said, I could appreciate a good argument, and a clear mening. However, when most arguments resolve in a "f*** u" and other little forms of ineloquence, there just isn't a point to arguing. Stupid people can't be told that they're stupid.
