i think that having so many world-class international players that play the same positions will eventually have a detrimental effect on chelsea. several players that could start for many top teams will have to begin the games sitting on the bench. i know that if i'm an awesome international player and started on the bench 35% of the time, i'd be pretty pissed. selecting players for international and world cup duties could also be problematic seeing that some of the players wouldn't be consistent starters.
having too many egos under one roof screwed madrid...it'll be fun to see the same thing happen to chelsea and their bandwagon. |

I don't think so? The only places i can think of right now where Chelsea has a conflict is centre back (Carvalho/Terry/Gallas/Huth), left winger (Robben/Duff) and striker (Crespo/Drogba). I think they have just enough for a good squad rotation system but not enough for big ego disputes - anyway most of the players aren't commercial superstars of the size of Real's "galacticos". Some are becoming superstars indeed for what they're doing at Chelsea (especially Terry, Lampard, and maybe Cech and Robben) but arrived at the club as average/unknown players. What Real did was to buy the 5 or 6 most hyped players they could find. I say it'll take at least some 2 more seasons for this team to start breaking apart (due to egos, bad results can come anytime). |

you don't say...is that what really happened? i agree that it will take time, but i do see players becoming discontent with playing time and then pushing for a move. maybe not this season, but maybe next. |

then what happened?!
Ronaldo - hyped as one of the best in the world if not the best, paid crazy money to get him
Figo - as above
Zidane - as above
Beckham - as above
Samuel, Owen - maybe not considered by the press as "world class" but still very, very well known
I'm not saying they're bad players at all, but it's blatant than Real didn't look only for their perfomances on the pitch, they looked for income from merchandising as well. This seems to be changing lately with signings like Gravesen, Garcia and Diogo, they've been looking for low-profile players for a change. |

i think the only plyer that hs a big ego at chelsea is crespo. the reason he and his g/f didnt like chelsea a few seasons ago was becuse people didnt recognise them as superstars wen they went into posh resturants and the like. crespo likes trying to be a playboy.
as long as he plys aswell as he did for miln last season ill be happy. |

| I really hate Chelsea. But they've really bought a great player in Oscár del Horno. That's a classplayer. |

I was at the Chelsea/Milan game last night... and SWP looked very good... he's a quick little bastard... and damn he is tiny...
BUT.... I knew Robben was a good player... but he is fantastic up close... he was all over the place... great player!!!
I don't know... I think Drogba is over-rated... guy missed two good chances... I don't know though... Is he going to be starting this season... or coming off the bench??? I like him coming off the bench... but that's just me... |
