I was disappointed for the Chelsea team, they are world class players who all deserved to win. Yet I just dislike chelsea so much for Mourinho, he talks so much rubbish, says so much and tries playing mind game.
At the end of the day we came through and the best team last week was Chelsea by far but this week we had the upper hand.
As Gerrard said, we chased every ball, and we surely did, we deserved to win the game. |

What went wrong for Chelsea:
- No Ricardo Carvalho. The guy is on great form this season, and his absence from the team forces Essien to move back to centreback, losing a great guy on the midfield. Also Essien from the centreback position, while he does a stunning job intercepting balls, he doesn't initiate counter-attacks the way Carvalho does by dribbling past 1 or 2 guys then pass direct, totally unbalancing the opposite team.
- No Ballack or Shevchenko. Yes they did take long to adapt and at the start of the season looked like a complete waste of money, but Ballack has scored goals always at the right times, and Shevchenko seems to finally look really confident, putting his mark on the field. Ballack's absence is even more noticeable due to Essien not being at the midfield neither.
- Terry, Makelele and Lampard are nowhere near the level of absolute brilliantness they shown the past 2 seasons. Terry came from a long injuy and still hasn't picked up confidence. Makelele simply became old for once. Lampard, I don't know why he isn't right, but he isn't right. Joe Cole also for some reason did nothing today, and Robben, which is the only other ultra-creative player Chelsea has on the wings, has no competitive rhythm.
- Mourinho personally ed up on the substitutions today. It wasn't easy, he lacked options on the bench, but still. Kalou for Wright-Phillips already seemed obvious at the middle of the 2nd half, why delay it until the middle of the extra time? As for Geremi, since the only reason for him to enter the field was to score a penalty kick, I consider it a personal -up by Mourinho as well. I love Mourinho (in a non-sexual way :wtf: ), but he wasn't at his best today neither. |

You say in a non-sexual way, as if it's worse than loving him in a non-sexual way.
When in reality loving him in anay way is the most horrible thing I can think of. |

If he took control of your club after a couple of really seasons, where all your league clubs were playing abysmally in the european competitions and your club wasn't even on par with them, and immediately won it 1 Champions League, 1 UEFA Cup, 2 national titles, 1 national cup and 2 supercups, all in the space of only 2 seasons.. you'd think otherwise.
The guy is a legend. |
