Yankees fans...

Jeter has been getting a pass for the past 2+ years. But he has hardly been Mr. Anything in these last few post-seasons and also in regular season "clutch" situations.

I never said that there havent been times when Jeter deserves a crack upside the head with a bat from Bonds.

I never said that you didn't. But it seems Rodriguez gets the blunt of everything. Yet Jeter gets a pass from fans and the media because he got a few big hits 6 or 7 years ago. Check the stats. He hasn't been too hot in "Close and Late" situations over the last few years.

I think A-Rod gets the bunt of it all is because of the 200 million dollar tag on his head.

Meh. That's a stupid reason. Especially since Jeter makes 18.

Yeah .... Yankees that I dislike have really let me down in the TA Baseball Playoff Pool. I am at the brink of elimination from winning it... :disbelief

Ok, look, you dont understand what it is to be a Yankee fan. Jeter has been here his entire career, and was a major part for us winning 4 rings in 5 years - this is what kinda gives him the 'free pass'.

Being a Mets fan, you wouldnt understand this. You might understand if the Mets win a few titles thanks to Beltran, than he goes on a bit of a slump, and while other people will be criticizing him, you will always revert back to when he was a big part of those titles.

Die hard fans are the biggest neo-'insert team here' fans ever and will butcher players that come here for one reason and dont come through.

See, us fans, we care about winning, the stats... you dont win... you dont contribute when it counts... you will be on the other end of a verbal lashing.

my my someone's not taking the loss well. i agree that jeter has earned his keep. tho a playoff series is a small sample and not reflective of the whole body of work, a-rod hasn't done too much the last two postseasons to warrant any praise

hmm...so anyone care to speculate on who will be traded/leave as a result of these last two seasons?

WE...NEED...STARTING PITCHERS!!! It's ESSENTIAL!!!

hmm did anyone realize that Randy Johnson had that ongoing problem with that slider when trying to recruit him? Or is that a pitch that he doesn't throw that often? I admit im not knowledgeable enough about his history to know.

i really like this thread, im learning a lot :D

partyhopper
A-Rod (E-Rod, Pay-Rod, A-Fraud :toothless ) is the new Mr. May

Well... here's the Yankees rotation next year:

Randy Johnson
Mike Mussina
Carl Pavano
Jaret Wright
Shawn Chacon

So... the rotation is pretty set. 4 of those pitchers are untradeable without paying their entire salary. And the other one is the one pitcher you wouldn't want to trade.
