wow, walkoff homer by Podsednik in Game 2... everything's going right for the White Sox
Astros have to beat not only the ChiSox but the baseball gods
I thought it was pretty much over after Konerko's grand slam. Too bad I had to leave before the end of the game, and before the Astros came back, to set the stage for Scottie.
It's interesting waking up in the morning to see the games, broadcasted on ESPN over in Asia. They also replay the broadcasts once or twice later on in the day. |

konerko's grand slam pretty much said to houston, i don't care who you are bringing in, i'm swinging at the first pitch and im gonna swing hard.
that was a SHOT by konerko...seriously a belt!
i admit, i was up watching till the walk off - now thats some good baseball
oh and lets not forget the clutch hit by Jose Vizcaino, great contact hitter, definitely not my first choice off the bench, however he was the right guy to deliver in that situation...
god i love this game |

If you thought it couldn't get better than Game 2... Astros with another marathon game, breaking yet another Mets record - this one for longest World Series game by time, which was previously set in 2000 WS Game 1
They also tied the 1916 record for most innings, but ChiSox won a stunner to take a 3-0 lead |

| The only positive thing about a sweep would be that at least its over and we can move on to the Off Season. I heard that this is the lowest rated World Series since 2000. |

It's funny because you'd expect that with a team that hasn't won the WS since 1917 and a team that has NEVER been in a WS, that people would want to watch.
But last night i was at Buffalo Wild Wings (sports bar, with multiple TVs), and only 1 bigscreen had the WS, the other channels were showing the World Series of Poker. My friend and I arrived early to get a table b/c we figured the place would fill up. It was half-full all night, and we left during the 3rd inning.
Going out our car I was lamenting about the lack of patronage, considering it's the World Series. My friend pretty much nailed it on the head when he said "well no one cares about Astros or ChiSox... it's only when Boston or New York (yankees) play that the place gets packed." |

too bad there arent' more ppl watching, because the games have been great. i wonder how the ratings in Chicago are.
a win tonight and the ChiSox match the BoSox record of 8 straight postseason wins last year.
If they go on to win, it would be tough to pick the WS MVP |

| Post-season MVPs are so dumb and worthless. How Foulke didn't get it for the ALCS and WS is beyond me... |

you know what...at this point does it matter how many runs the white sox score in this game...i hope they blew their load here and dont score at all the rest of the series...besides any team that can come back from down 0-3 to the yankees wont be scared by this loss... |
they sure blew their load all the way to the world series title ;) |

Another sweep for the AL team
Congrats to the White Sox for winning their first title since 1917, breaking the curse of the Black Sox
Shoeless Joe Jackson can now rest in peace
It was truly amazing run where all the stars were aligned. They'll be good next year, but I don't think they'll repeat this kind of magic. I think it was a once-in-a-generation kind of run for them.
Cubs vs. Indians in the World Series next year! |
