Yea hes a lefty, but... hes 0-3, 11.12 ERA, 11.1 IP, 18 H, 16 R, 14 ER... when he was promoted to the majors for a short time.

The other lefty they have in the minors is Matt Smith, his stats look pretty good - he might get called up next year.

Stats look an awful like some other lefty I know... Oh wait...

And if that Smith kid is a lefty, why isn't he up? Great GMing job, Cashman. Not that he's tearing up AAA, but his periph's aren't TOO bad. Walks a lot, but not even close to as many as the Senator.

Although he gives up walks, hes got a consistent 3:1 SO:BB ratio, which is not bad. As for why they havent called him up... beats me, they called everyone else up.

Leiter is not built to be a good reliever. Most of the time, he has absolutely horrible control which is a necessity for the bullpen. Likewise, he's a lefty who doesn't have super success against lefties. Then we thrown in all those stats ... The only hope is that he "rises" to the occasion of the post-season because he really has before and is a sneaky veteran.

But I usually cover my eyes when he enters the game.

Hence, Al Leiter sucks.

Well both of them are on the postseason roster, Embry took Jaret Wright's place. And I think both suck with equal aplomb.

thats why we need 7 out of every starter the rest of the way, mo is going to have to pitch 2 like in the past if the yankees are going to win it again, especially this year

I think Moose is the only one of the starters that cant go 7, given that the other starters dont give up the game. Mo doesnt have to pitch 2... if the starter goes 7, you go to Small, Gordon than Mo. Depending on Jaret, he might be on the roster for the ALCS.
