what sirens? those are few and far between in the city of atlanta or for that matter anywhere in the metro area. i know of a few in the town i grew up in (duluth,ga) but anywhere else. forget about it.
the national weather service says they gave everyone 10 minutes. now let's keep in mind this
1. we had the sec tournament here this weekend and tons of fans/tourist in town for that . along with many other things that were happening downtown.
2. not everyone was at home or near something to be able to warn them at 9:30 pm
3. yes the lightning was even bad out here in johns creek which is 20 miles north of the city but most folks here just think it's another bad storm.
p.s. the only reason duluth has sirens is because of a tornado in 1998 that ripped though there.

Some s going on. When we were walking back to the bricks to have our stripper festivities it started to rain and hail. It hailed last night in southern cali.:eyespop:

well how does someone go about raising a stink about not having sirens? my parents are from the midwest and i know sirens save lives. also weather alarms help but not everyone is going to go out and spend the $30 bucks on it...well i hope after this weekend people would be more willing to do it

That comment cracks me up Will. Why do so many military folk (at least AF) like to knock the NWS? A few (and a few that are pretty high ranking) have similar thoughts... yet the NWS eats up and hires so many military folk to work (it took me a while to beat you damn folk out to get hired!)
