Aye. An off night or something. I don't know. I was pissed at Tiesto after 6/17/04 (Neil, DON'T even think about it), but this was much more personal to me cause it was PVD.

I'm glad you didn't waste the trip, either. Wish I could say the same for Dream Beamz and Akkare. They came in from out of town for this tripefest of a night.

Koky, I understand what you are`talking about, but we all go to hear PVD not because he is the #1 DJ, but because he can bring it when he wants to. It is not an excuse, I know he is supposed to bring it EVERY time he plays, but I enjoy his good sets like I enjoy my boyfriend's, Eric's, Edgars, and Reliks sets. I go to listen to the music, not see the DJ. I will go to a house party to listen to any of our our own boys instead of a club anyday. But because I LOVE the music so much, I try and go and listen to it whenever I get a chance, and those are very few, here in Miami. Like Doug and I were talking about yesterday, if I would have never heard trance and heard PVD last night, I would have hated it!!! We are all very lucky to be able to hear such good quality music all night long from our own locals.
And one more thing, WHY DON'T THEY LET EDGAR SPIN BY HIMSELF????? WHY THIS WHOLE GA THING NOW???? LEAVE EDGAR ALONE!!!!!! His set was awesome last night, and those two hours were the only good two hours of the whole night!!! He should not have gotten off, and kept spinning all night long. WHY DON'T THEY LET HIM SPIN ALL NIGHT BY HIMSELF!!!!!
But to get off the soapbox,
To my TA friends: You guys made my night bearable, If it wasn't for all of you, I would have left 5 minutes into his set!!!!!

TBH the DJ, I dont think its an excuse to blame the crowd for what a bad night it was. The prices set @ Spirit were for those hardcore people that are really willing to pay to see the DJ, and in terms of options to go get trashed, you got 2 known clubs right next to each other, Pangea, Gryphon, who were charging like 20 compared to the 40 bucks for PvD, not ANYONE would pay that, so the crowd was very dedicated to what I saw, and a DJ's challenge is to know how to read a crowd.. and PvD should have read the crowd. Oh Well.. |

What can I say about pauls set but ehhhh. We did this trip on a budget so at least not much money was lost.
I personally think it has alot to do with the venue in comparison to space. Spirits has alot of open room and I think it takes away from the overal vibe, and with past pvd experiences he feeds on the vibe. DA, dont feel bad for us, his South Florida apperances are still better than anywhere else thats drivable. I as well as you have been spoiled by his recent sets. And who knows, it would be the one time I didnt come down that paul played something more amaizing. It was good to meet a few TAs
Club review:
Extremely nice layout, good sound but needs more sub cabinets to be like space, still sounds alot better than most clubs. Laser was really nice, it was good seeing one without having to operate it in a club. Tabel reservation area looked really nice with a good view of the dancefloor with plenty of seating. I also thought it was too bright in there but that could just be me. Even when space had tons of lighting they used darker colors. Traffic getting there was kinda bad but only delayed us 30 mins.
See you guys at space for pvd March 24th unless something changes with the way they have done things for years. |
