edgar is the man. my brother used to tell me that he used to own everybody at the old Space afterhours. I wish i was able to go to those nights at the old Space:eyespop: :eyespop: Anyways, a lot of people probably don't know how Edgar really plays since he opens a lot for others and is required to play proggy or housy. Edgar ownz u.

Okay I think people are taking the House stuff out of contest too much, its not like it was HOUSE HOUSE music.. I found it more monotonic then house.. but in a bad way. I enjoy some House DJ's so I should have had enjoy PvD if that was the case but it wasnt.. Edgar Plays Housier sets for opening @ space for PvD and I enjoy those.. PvD was not even enjoyable.... just some of the tunes.

You can say that again.

By far against any house DJ to me Edgars Prog house sound is by far top notch compared to alot of the house Dj's playing today. I've had a chance to hear a few & none bring the vibe & energy Mr V brings with his sound. I wish Edgar would play more in Miami HOUSE OR TRANCE.

Also
:( I miss Friday nights @ CROBAR W/ Edgar. Those were good times.

I for one will say that I have not seen a set from Paul yet that really utilized Ableton. I am a hard core pvd fan but if he keeps using ableton without doing more with it I will be disapointed. Ableton needs more than a mouse and a laptop, a midi controller would greatly improve his sets. Also ableton takes away pauls want to give a damned about the night, no crowd interaction and no thought behind it. When paul uses strictly serato scratch its a night to be remembered. He gets into the set and blows it the up. I am torn from the other night, hopefully in march I wont have to be so torn. He is the first dj to make it to number 1 using strictly digital media and he needs to show what its all about because I know he can......

Yes he did play with the sounds pretty much, but further from using Ableton he lacked something out... I didnt even hear a Paul van Dyk chant when he left. Thats bad..

I totally agree on the below statement. Nov 05 ing owned especially since I am a bigger fan of the unknown techy . By the way has anyone ever IDed that track ID4? And spacemasters I also have a video of that seperate from the one someone else made. You can PM me for it.........

The tunes were too predictable. When you cant I.D more than 4or5 tunes in a set more than likely it was an aswome set like back in November he played Wundervoll Must Have Been A Dream (Mac Zimms Remix)and http://www.dreambeamz.com/pvdspace/ID4.wav :eyespop:this tunes they ahd on vid was awsome. And I see that people that went last night people I.D many of the tunes and many were tunes that we have been jamming since like Febuary.

All right, time to finally throw in my review.

First off, the club. Goddamn was it cold when I got there, but the layout and setup is pretty nice. The sound system was loud enough, but vocals, and highs in general sounded TERRIBLE. The whole having to go into the hip hop room to use the bathroom also sucked ass, and whenever someone would play a track that would get real melodic and quiet, you could hear the bass thumping from the hip hop room, ruining whatever track was playing in the main room. The laser however was pretty awesome, and they have a nice set up with that laser and the bounce mirrors. Now, I'm not sure if it's just a different crowd than Miami or if the DJs just weren't getting to the crowd, but the vibe was seriously lacking during most of the show. It was hilariously easy to spot out who was a TA and who wasn't before it got crowded, because they were really the only ones dancing.

Edgar's set was just ok for me at first, and then he really picked up the pace and started dropping some hot opener tracks as PvDs time slot was getting closer. I love Edgar, but this was definitely a weak opening set compared to some of the past ones I've heard from him at Space. Also, whoever thinks that Edgars headliner style is a copy of anyone or anything else is ing retarded. Edgar's nocturnal sessions are some of the best trance sets I've heard when he was doing it at the time, and they were dark, driving, and unique as hell.

On to PvD. Ok, a lot of TAs definitely did not like this set, but for me, aside from the usual trash he plays (other side, time of our lives, etc, etc) I thought he had a pretty good set. I'm glad it wasn't just a repeat of nov '05 because it would have been the same thing in a worse club, and that in my opinion. I also disagree with some people that say the stuff he was playing was 'house' or even really that housey, it just had some repetitive monotonous elements which I thought really weren't that bad. The main problem is most of it sounded distorted or horrible because that system was NOT sounding like it should have and was butchering tracks left and right. If it were up to me, Paul would play a banging trance set, but just because he didn't doesn't mean I'm going to hate what he played, and overall I thought his set was decent. A lot of you have never really heard PvD in a smaller city than Miami, and let me tell you, THAT is when PvD really plays some absolute . Was this past set not as good as Nov '05? Nope. But that's not going to stop me from driving 12 hours to see him again.

Lastly, as for George Acosta... it's disappointing that some of his track selection starts off sounding good and banging, and then when the breakdown hits, it turns into a cheesy piece of track. Also, lay off the goddamn horn.

Oh yea, nice meeting you too DA. Wish I would have chatted with you more, but maybe next time.

as nfekted mention we had to go back to miami to get PANTSSSS, that kind of ed up the night for us, we was madder than a mother******.

i am so glad i wasn't like really hyped up for pvd, i mean i was doing a lot of things over this winter break so, i guess thats why, but anyways, i did want pvd to break my balls that night, and what a disappointment, he didn't even tickle them. i was mad, i didn't really wanted to think about it, cause i know it would get me stressed out. fuk men, que clase de mierda!!!

i think pvd should stop touring so much and go to that white studio of his in berlin and start producing some out of this world pvd stuff. thats what i am waitting for.

good seeing all the ta's there, you know who u are, and if u don't know who i am, well i am the fat guy with the beard, and with the home made pvd shirt.

ok well, until WMC 06.
