Man is this thread just one huge piece of flamebait. This can be labelled as "Where TA's gone wrong" all in one thread. Or at least why it's gotten a bad name for the past year or so.
Ah well, still a good read.
oh, as for the album... eh... it was alright I guess, I won't remember it most likely. Nor will I listen to it again on purpose. |

I mean i guess i can see what you mean by stale or whatever but the scene is going through a transitional period and hopefully we will be back UP again...as opposed to this down period. If that made any sense. |
actually what does keep the trance-scene in its current stale condition is the fact that most producers seem to follow in each others footsteps instead of trying to be original. Its hard to point fingers, but when well known classic ones as l-vee who once used to lead the progression of trance forward stops and starts to mimic a sound that isnt anywhere near new imo i think he needs to hear it. Im all for discovering new sounds even if they wouldnt be favourable to me, a producers originality must be the one thing that keeps motivating him/her to do just that. |

well i hadn't posted in this thread before because i didn't really have a great opinion of the album. like a lot of people in this thread i was a little disappointed with the product, but i wanted to come in and respond to a lot of what's being said in this thread...
some of the people in here that are getting crap for not liking the album are some of the biggest l-vee fans on the boards. so i don't understand what is so wrong with them expressing their feelings about an album they didn't like. hell i can sit here and name a ton of l-vee works that are in my top tunes ever...if anything i think those are the people that's opinions should matter the most to the artists...not the other way around.
there's been a really big trend of artists coming on TA and really being negative themselves, when they read criticism of their work. well, i hate to say it, but if you can't accept honesty in the opinions of your work, then i don't know why you're in the business in the first place. i would love to come into this thread and scream about how this is the album of the year...that it was fantastic and i wasn't disappointed, but if that's not the case...i don't think people should be expected to sugar coat their opinions. it's not like we all just love to hate artists because we're jealous or something. the people with negative opinions of the album also love to praise work that they love. if you came into this thread and had a genuine interest in what these people didn't like in the album...you could get some useful feedback from the people that buy your music.
and really the people that said they didn't like this album...i garauntee the next time an airwave production comes out or a different alias or whatever comes out...they'll be listening to the samples and hoping it's great...and if it is, this thread will be the complete opposite and those disappointed now would be the same people praising it because all they really care about is great music... |

I think one of the reasons why your posts stir up such reactions is because you express your own personal tastes in a way as to say you somehow speak for the people. That you represent the masses.
Why people can't just accept things and move on with their lives is puzzling, when you think about the energy and passion from some posters you have to ask yourself, what amazing things could they accomplish if they put that passion to good use!.

no you are mistaking me. I'm not talking for the whole lot. If you read my posts you see that I wrote them with a very personal view and I could relate to my memories of L-vee's productions in the past that given me so many great moments. This is personally my and just my taste and opinion. And if you read the others posts such as Ian, Floorfiller, Cosmos etc I don't seem to be alone in this kind of opinions.
What do you mean with that last bit? Don't you get it that we, the oldest fans, the ones that have been following L-vees career, bought all his records etc are the ones that are dissapointed? and isn't it logical that the most true fans are the ones that spends most energy with expressing their opinions, may it be positive or negative.
sure the negative response to this album have been overall negative but for a reason! |

just to take this on a bit, have got hold of some of the latest ipool releases, and guess what, a kompresser vs YDR remix of the first rebirth - really tasteful. And also a green martian remix of Armandi - Philtre, along with a return of 'blue velvet' this is why I respect the guy, cos he can put out such diversity, quality & good listening. |
