It will be interesting to see the reviews after that night!
Her set most certainly won't be like the one she played at Guv in July before Dave Clarke.

If you read the event listing you can already imagine what a mix of reviews it is going to be. I unfortunately wasn't at Guv that night and I have yet to see MB.
But I don't think I will be able to attend this on the 24th either. Too many parties and not enough money :(

Well crowds in Montreal and Ottawa have come to expect this style a bit more since she has tended to play more or less like this for a few years now, any opportunity she gets... now she is touring for her new cd which is anything BUT relentless beats, from what I can tell with the tracklisting anyway.

Good for her for following her heart I guess.. I'm curious to see where her career will be a few years from now!
Skipper
I think the venue and the people playing along with her will make a more groovy techno set very fitting.

Toronto has had a very steady scene of tech-house, while hard techno appears to have come and gone...

She's touring for a CD that is minimal techno and electro-house, if people bitch she doesn't play hard, they only have themselves to blame for not reading up on the new CD first!

well ya.. I don't whole heartedely endorse it because I'm not really a fan of this direction she is going in, but she's made her choice and I've made mine, not to bother going to see her again anytime soon.
Skipper
I just think it's funny how you make it sound like you think her following her heart with her career is perhaps not her best choice (by saying "I guess")

Aren't we all trying to do the same with our own careers?
Kate Manus
nah.. I am sure she will continue to get pretty solid bookings.. like her first appearance at Fuse next month.. Some would even venture to say she is following more of a trend so in fact it might even be a better career move for her anyway! different strokes, different folks.

I have been looking for this type of thread... Thanks.. Kate.. :D

I am thinking I am going to upload a lot of my older MB sets to my site as a tribute over the next couple of months...many of the better ones are on CD so I need to rip them to MP3 first.
