What would you do if someone asked you to turn down your music on the bus/subway?

maybe i'm overreacting but this lady on the bus with her two kids asked me to turn down my music, and I said why? she replied with "I dislike it and its very loud" I laughed and said "whatever, fine" and turned it down to half volume...two minutes later she asks me AGAIN to turn it down - and that was it for me. :whip:
edit : the two kids were around 14/15 years old and they woulden't shut their mouths about how "annoying and loud" my music was...FFS I was listening to ferry corsten - punk   |

I would depend on my mood at the time, and the way the person interacted w/ me in telling/asking me to turn it down.

| Under the assumption that you were using headphones which were directed into your ears... I'd LIKE to tell her to die.. BUT.. I'd probably just give her a really dirty look and put my headphones back on... without changing the volume. |

were u wearing headphones?
if u were id tell them to off...especially after uve turned it down.
not liking the music is not an excuse to tell someone to turn down their music. |

I love how considerate all of you are.
Keeping in mind that you are on PUBLIC transportation, and therefore might want to consider how your music is affecting the PUBLIC. Some people listen to their music at RIDICULOUS volumes. Even if I like the song, I find it annoying to have to listen to it via their PERSONAL music device.
I'm sure you'd find turning it down to a more comunally feasible volume would not only save you a plethora of dirty looks but maybe some of your hearing as well.

| I'd only turn it down if they turned down the noise of the traffic/trains. |
