Ya gotta be out of your F'in mind to vacation over there. And not only that but if you do and get rescued on the taxpayers dollar STFU and stop complaining be thankful something was done to save your sorry ass out of a situation you put yourself into.

I had to post this again because everyone on here is whining about whiners when in fact...very few people were irritated to begin with!
Most Canadian-Lebanese have been evacuated, most people are blessed and happy. The articles dispell much of the myths going on.

Their news must be syndicated from bigger newspaper and news agencies feeding you little-towners-empty-headed people with valid and accurate information! Did they also interview the thousands that were grateful to the Canadian govt and made it back safely? Or are they just paying attention to those who were the loudest?
And how do you know that the Lebanese over here aren't sending money to their relatives back home to help them? Do you have Lebanese people around you that decided that this war does not concern them?

Okay first of all no I am not dense. I don’t know where you get off calling me that and I’m not even going to get into it.
Second of all did I mention a SINGLE thing about people complaining about food or water, elder who were ill, crying children? NO! So don’t put words into my mouth!
Third, I didn’t know that since you haven’t heard of a city like Cambridge meant that information from their newspaper was propaganda and useless. I never said that they sent reporters to Lebanon…so again, STOP PUTTING WORDS INTO MY MOUTH. Stop assuming things, such as their news being syndicated from a bigger news agency…b/c if you read my post you would see that it said that people were writing letter’s to the editor and these were the ones that were printed. Am I the one choosing what is printed? No…so FORGIVE ME if I saw what WAS printed and didn’t get all the rest of the letters sent to my doorstep to examine.
Fourth, I was simply complaining about the fact that some people were demanding that quote “luxurious cruise ships” be sent to rescue them, immediately and that it would be despicable if the Canadian government were to send anything less.
And fifth, I never said anything about Lebanese sending money to their relatives…so again, quit putting words into my mouth. |

I understand this and think it's great that so many people are greatful. The point of my thread was not to say that EVERYONE who was rescued was complaining...it was that I think the people who are demanding that Canada should rescue them in the most luxurious way is unbelievable. I know the portion of people that are complaining about this is the minority. I never once said it was the majority. |

Oh? Did each and every one of them have a round trip ticket? What about the ones that stay there for an indefinite amount of time and come back to Canada when they see fit to? Are you dense?

I resent your comment about us being empty headed, and 120,000 people doesn't exactly make Cambridge a "little town." Perhaps compared to Montreal sure, but come on now.
Regarding the part about paying attention to those who are the loudest, of course that's what they're doing. That's what every newspaper is doing. Nobody wants to hear about the people that got back safely, that's just expected if evacuations occur. The public wants a show and that's what the newspapers cater to.
All in all, a dumb comment made by an idiot is causing this awesome thread. |

Yes, I make my opinion of those people who wrote to the editor based on letters that they themselves have written. Did I generalize anywhere that ALL of the people who were being rescued complained? No. In fact I stated that I know it was not the majority of people who complained. I was simply stating that the people who DID complain ought to be ashamed of themselves. |

Reading the letters sent to the editor of all the newspapers I receive at home are along the same lines. Blah blah blah Canada come get us I'm a dip and decided to vacation in a country run by terrorists in a bad part of the world where goes to hell in a handbasket in 3.7 seconds and oh golly another carbomb come get me Stephen Harper.
