goddamnit this thread pisses me off, esepcially coming off of forecasting for the past 8 hours.
GLOBAL WARMING DOES NOT, NOR WILL NOT...EV5R, HAPPEN IN ONE YEAR.
just because it is unseasonably warmer in your area does not suggest the thought that "OMG GLOBAL WARMING WE'RE GONNA DIE".
vice versa, just because it's colder than normal does not mean that global warming is not existing.
it's -5 in kansas, -8 in iowa, -40 in manitoba. but it's 35F on the arctic ocean in Point Barrow, AK.
Why? because of a ing wrex block and ridge building over the pacific northwest. NOT because of global warming.

the key to global warming is "ing". it's not happening overnight. it's not even happening over a year. this takes DECADES. DECADES & CENTURIES for anything major to happen to make some sort of climatological change and therefore affect the normal world we live in today.
and now, with the new EF scale that's out, everyone's going to freak out and be like, "OMGZORZ MORE F5'S IT MUST BE GLOBAL WARMING" and the same w/ the hurricane season.
"global warming" gets blamed for too much of what is normally occuring in the atmosphere.

Someone who understands the concept of Global Warming far better than a fair number of folks (save for jdat, well played m8) posting in this thread.

Let me just put it to you this way: In my eyes, anyone who denies global warming as a legitimate problem that needs immediate attention on a GLOBAL scale is an absolute idiot living in the comfort of ignorance. |

It's pricks like you who trivialize real issues that perpetuate ignorance in the world.
When you or someone you love is lying in a hospital, dying of either skin cancer or some other disease caused by the same activities/carcinogens causing global warming - I'll laugh, you earned it.
Shame nature can't discriminate and rid the world of fools like you. |

The fact is From Japan to Europe efforts are being made to put a brake on the tendency, and your Bush barely admits the problem actually exists. Al Gore was a true hero with his movie... I hope it open people's eyes.
P.S.: and I hope India and China releases that their ultra-fast development are costing a very high price to the world. |
