Meh, I don't know where I stand on this situation. I mean ya it's raining a lot, and we have no snow, but it doesn't EXACTLY mean it's serious case of global warming. It's out there, but I don't know the extent of it. |

All this recycling eco warrior bollocks does my nut in. Tropical style weather in the UK brilliant stuff!
When the polar ice caps melt face it we're all going to be brown bread. It'll be our great grandchildren x10 problem dealing with like our bodies floating out of the graves.
Plus poorer countries will have droughts. They're causing quite a fair bit of damage to the enviorment by using older forms of energy coal etc. So as far as I'm concerned everyones a winner in this situation. ;) |

maybe not where you're living, but its pretty obvious in other parts of the world, like australia. |
If couple of Aussies wind up brown bread due to being cooked alive won't cause the rest of the world too much concern. :p
The orginally concept of why we sent you convicts to penal colony is evident now pity they picked the wrong century. ;) |

average temperatures in australia are .9 degrees hotter than they should be. we have a serious drought in parts of the country, and chaotic weather in other areas. theres no doubt in the scientific community's mind that this is due to global warming.

Quite a few short term effects can be attributed to temperature fluctuations due to El Nino which is currently active. |
for once I agree :p
El Nino brings us a weird pattern of weather for each year. For the UK it means fairly windy, Mild & Damp. we're currently 8-10 degrees celcius above what we should be, and about 10-12c above what we were last year when we had a biting cold winter. We've had no snow but we don't get a lot anyway. Europe on the whole has lacked snow too, many resorts were struggling to be ready on time for the skiing season.
Weather follows many patterns over a long period of time, often look back 10 or 20 years rather than 1 or 2 for similar patterns. Just because we have a "year" doesn't mean that everything changes.
Onto global warming. Yeah, it exists, the more populated we get, the more pollution we create, we are changing the levels of gasses in the atmosphere, and that will affect a lot, esp warming up, but also more extreme phenomena. forgetting this year due to el nino, things have got slowly worse over our lifetimes (average what, 22 years maybe) things have changed. Hurricanes, tornadoes, storms etc will continue to happen, and I do think global warming is now irreversible, however it is upto people to slow it down, and we can all do a little bit to it, like it or not :) |
