look what this dude on myspace wrote,
quote: | If you wish to follow your entire life keep beliving other people definitions. If you live to be led follow in ideology and theology of other peoples definitions blindly. Education teaches meaning of life defined. Actions speak louder than words because the knowledge and truth of your existence isthe walking testament of your own DNA, understand that and you will be free to understand life. Not define it.
Global warming is a myth for the fear of the masses keeps the masses within the fellowships designed to lead them where the leaderships wish to be taken on their free ride through life at the fellowships cost.

He is not necessarily wrong, though he seems to speak with the same self-righteous urgency of those hysterical masses he seeks to critique.
People who say that global warming is a myth or that they 'don't need to worry about it because it doesn't affect them in their lifetime *Budweiser burp*" are pretty much just idiots. But there is definitely something to be said about the people who get all hyped up, ready to blame humans for the change in 'the natural process', ready to cry Armageddon just because the state of the world is changing. Really, what does 'natural' even really mean? Of course there is a delicate balance on this planet that has been proven to support life as we know it - the slightest alteration to this balance means the swift and sudden death of biological organisms; as far as we know, this is the simple law of the universe. However, life finds a way, or it doesn't. What the do we, as human beings, owe to the planet? We were created of the same ingredients of all the other organisms here with us, it's just that our combination has yielded a comparatively 'advanced' species capable of introspection. Does an owl that snatches a field mouse in the dead of night owe some great debt to the universe because its innate drive to consume and process has resulted in the death of a living creature? I know that there is something perverse about a species that lives in this extravagant stagnation that humanity currently does - we are beings without a niche, concerned so much more about ephemeral materialism than our place in this world and beyond, but perhaps the lesson we must eventually learn is that of surviving the very world we have created.
There's no stopping this - excessive human population has lead to this point. It's ironic that the very product of our excess will become the great equalizer - the great solution. I have faith that life will find a way, as it always has before. If it does not, who will be on Earth to miss it and mourn its loss? If humanity was meant to survive catastrophe on this scale, then it will find a way to cope with the impending crisis. If humanity does not survive, then it does not deserve to inherit the Earth - this has been the law of nature for quite some time; well, that and luck. :p |

my thoughts?
there are bigger issues to worry about than global warming. such as poverty, crime and what to eat for lunch. |

I agree with Ang on this. I'll have more 'scholarly' things to add for arbiter tomorrow.
I'll read more on this thread and add discussion with topics and further literature that are within the RCC's and NOAA.
