Don't follow gaelic football. I'm into normal football (soccer) not like them Aussie sports where you chase some egg around a field and have a round of bum bongo's in the showers afterwards. |

hahaha. half-caste is one of my favourite terms :D oh yeah, football > every other sport. though grid iron & ice hockey are right up there too...
and AFL (aussie rules) is one of the hardest games on the planet. these guys certainly dont have a game of bum bongos in the shower. unless they're originally from ireland of course :) |

Global warming is quite real. Ive spent the better part of the last 5 years studying the science, so Im pretty sure of it. Im sick of all the s who take the "its not my problem" approach. Its so irresponsible on a global scale...
If we keep this up, god only knows what will happen. People keep talking about how its not going to effect our generation, but the FACT of the matter is that we dont know how a global increase in temperature is going to effect our planet. We have such a limited knowledge of the place we live, yet we assume to understand it enough to model the results of four times the normal amount of GHGs in the atmosphere.
When its all said and done, YOU DONT KNOW that its not going to effect you directly. YOU DONT KNOW that it isnt going to send the planet into some new equlibrium state, one which could be comprised of what we consider massive catastrophe after massive catastrophe.
In my opinion, what we are doing right now is suicide. I only hope that I can help the matter in my lifetime. |

Here's how the global temperatures have been for oh say the last 500 million years:
So, yeah, the globe is warming. It has been warming for more than a million years, and as you can see we've been due for it. It's colder now than the Earth is usually, and it's going to take a lot of warming to get up to the point that the Earth tends to naturally gravitate towards (22C).
Yup, it will have some negative effects for certain regions. Personally, I think it's good that we'll have to adapt... we're stagnant right now. |
