| i'm pretty certain the atmosphere will peak when a big trance number gets dropped. in a stadium event with 40,000 people you need some epic intense music to really make the atmosphere peak. house just doesnt cut it. |

i think people who rave on about the experience of sensation really do underestimate the importance of the music. the show will be fantastic no matter what music, but with dull house all night it will be severly dampened.

dude please, your completely looking at this from a trance point of view. The line up for this years sensation white is logical:
Mason
Fedde le Grand
Both took the world by storm this year with exceeder and detroit. Playing quality sets all around the globe.
Erick E
Most popular DJ in the Netherlands. Made an small international breakthrough with The Beat is Rocking.
David Guetta
Responsible for one of the summer anthems for 2007: Love is Gone. Also his new album will create an international buzz. His ibiza nights remain very popular
Darren Emerson
Junior Jack & Kid Crème
Like it or not, they are both still very popular. Played on various foreign Sensation events so they know what to do.
House music is very popular at the moment. Not only in the Netherlands but also on a worldwide basis. Saying that house can not reach an epic peak is just bull. There thousands of house nights and festivals on a worldwide basis that are rocking from beginning to end. Just go to pacha, ibiza in the middle of the summer and then say house can not peak.
But hey let's say we were ID-t. And we wanted to book a trance dj for this years sensation. Ofcourse the following names will pop up:
Tiesto, Armin, PVD, Marco V and Ferry
Tiesto:
Doing the elements of life tour
Armin:
Heavy international summer touring and has other plans with ID-T
PVD:
Has a bad relationship with ID-T and is closing down dance valley mainstage
Marco V:
Hosting it's own area at Dance Valley
Ferry:
Dance Valley, put could probaly be booked.
As you can see, Ferry is the only one that could be booked but that would make the line up unbalanced.
The choices ID-T made is just simple: House is very popular, Trance isn't anymore. It's easier to book names like mason, erick e, fedde etc. They also have made a bigger impact on the scene the last year. The big trance names have already been on the line up for years.
For trance fans that are coming all this way it is ofcourse dissapointing. But Sensation was never a trance event. It is about the show, atmosphere and being in white. If you want to go to parties that have music as their top priority just go to:
Dance Valley
Extrema
Mysteryland
Awakenings
Ground Zero
Loveland
Dominator

i agree with what you say, big name trance djs will be alot more difficult to book not just for the night itself, but for the preparations too. and there is no doubt that house music has become extremely popular. and ofcourse, with sensation white being sensation white, ID-T have no worries of not selling out in a day whether they announce the lineup straight away or the day before the event.
ID-T will have done what they can, and I cannot argue with their decision. they are basically giving the majority of people what they want. you cant do much more. its just a shame that trance has declined to the point that there isn't a single trance dj on at sensation white. for the first time ever too i think. |

what about Above & Beyond? Sander van Doorn ? or Rank 1 ? ID-T could have booked one of them.
why do you say Sensation was never a trance event? as far as i remember, there has always been trance djs' on Sensation White. we all know SW is NOT TranceEnergy, but in the past, the lineups for SW have been pretty balanced. even last year with the lineup that it was, we had Ferry , & Tiesto showed up for a short set. |

All good names, but they didn't had such a big impact last few months compared to Fedde, Mason, Erick E etc. What I said: House is big, trance isn't.

Ofcoure there were trance djs on the line up. But that doesn't make it a trance event. The slogan is: The worlds leading dance event. So you can expect dance music being it trance, house or techno. |

| Well I made my decision anyways to goto DV over Sensation, More Quaility DJ's and its a new expierience. I went to Sensation White last year had a blast. White was a great expierience over all, I might do it next year we shall see. |

| BTW Sensation had the first edition names such like: Carl Cox, Sven Vath & Jean... |
|
|
| Desperado22 |
| But Jean played a long time in his dj career only Trance.... Sven Väth also a short time. Let me remind to "L´esperanza" for example. |
