He handled the situation really well, but it was obvious (to me) that he was scared as hell. He did a great job of calming me down.

So you're scared, and your boyfriend goes home to sleep?

That's a pretty ing punk thing to do, even if you told him he could go.

Not quite the issue right now...

yeah it's not safe to be alone and having ur cell fone on next to u wont help u more (i dont want to sound pessimistic though)

i hope things are going to be okay til the time u go back over there

what is bothering me is that im sure a lot of people were waiting already , i know here it's usually for -minors things- , cut , burnt ....little accidents

but if someone is comming and bleeding like u ....for sure this person would be taken in charge immediately , getting the priority on the others with less serious things....to get check out at least and stop the bleeding

it doesnt seem to work this way by u right?:(

i think its ridiculous they have the nerve to make you freakin wait for hours when something might be seriously wrong!

I agree. However, because other people were higher priority than me (babies dying, car accidents), I was bumped down = longer wait time.

but wait a minute? i thought canadian healthcare was like the best in the world? you mean, you weren't treated in like 30 seconds like everyone else thinks?! get out! no way! omg!

anyway, that does suck for a time limit. but, i mean, why the long wait? did half your neighborhood get sick too???

The problem with Canadian health care is that there is a phenomenal shortage of doctors. The hospital I went to had ONE doctor working TWO wards. Otherwise the healthcare isn't bad.

Bloody hell, have you got any idea of what might've happened?! Did the doctors/nurses/receptionists tell you anything at all?

I hope it's nothing serious, but this is indeed scary. Is your boyfriend there with you? I don't think being alone is a good idea right now...

They gave me a huge range of what it might be. Hemmeroid with the odd coincidence of nose bleed. Cancer. Fissure with again, odd coincidence of nose bleed... etc. etc.

They couldn't really tell me anything. I demanded (after arguing with him for a half hour) for my BF go home as he was exhausted. My roomie is here, but is sleeping.

I don't really want to be alone either. I mean, I wish they could have let me sleep somewhere at the hospital and came to get me when they were ready, but that wasn't going to happen. Not to mention, I don't think I would have slept there.

lol, i know, i was being sarcastic ;)

isn't there another hospital to go to? i mean, if one sucks, can you go somewhere else? or is like you have to see that place because you're 'assigned to it' like in a district or something?

i guess similar to like an HMO thing where its free if you see the DRs on the list....but not elsewhere. etc....

I really wouldn't have left. I mean, I understand that sleep probably sounded pretty good, but damn...If they can't tell you anything at all?

I wouldn't want to go to sleep...

Edit: They really used the words "Odd coincidence?" That would freak me out too!

lol@randomly saying "cancer" in there. yeah, that's great.

I honestly had a good span of time where I thought I was dying, and I turned to my BF, grabbed his hand and told him I loved him very much. I wanted to make sure he heard it, because I was worried it was honestly going to be the last time I would have a chance to say it.

Most awful feeling ever.

That sucks :(

How are you feeling at the moment, other than freaked out and tired?

Fledz
WTF? Why did you have to wait?

Here in Aus if you're bleeding or have a suspected broken bone, you are automatically moved to the front of the line. waiting when you've got internal bleeding.

oh it's gotta be something small. don't worry. if it was anything serious, you wouldn't be posting on the forumz at this time :)
