| i just bought a 32 inch samsung 1080i , from what i read up is to the human eye its impossible to notice the diffrence on a 32 inch , only worth going 1080p if i was going 40 inches or larges. But this TV is just crazy! just waiting for the HDMI cable i purchased on ebay. Futureshop selling that cable for 85$? what gives? |

disregard anyone who says "buy Samsung" I have a 52 inch Samsung and it is a nightmare from basically day 20. I have already put 400 dollars into it.
Their Customer inservice is terrible, their parts are the cost of a slightly smaller Sony.
Sure the picture quality is good (why I bought it) but IT HAS NOT BEEN WORTH THE HEADACHE. |
sell it and buy a sharp aquos or sony bravia. i have a sony bravia and its very good even at 1080i. my next tv will be sharp aquos. |

So we should disregard all the reviews, and all the other positive personal exeriences, because you, one person had a bad unit? :haha:
It is manufacturing, no process is 100% reliable. I don't understand how you put so much money into it, when you your problems started while it was still under warranty. Hell if it was day 20, you could have just returned it to the store for a brand new unit. Something doesn't smell right.
I'm sitting here using my 17" Samsung monitor that I got 3 years ago, for a dirt cheap price. Its still beautiful. The Samsung TV I got 2 years ago, still looks just as good as anything on the market today. And the Samsung laser printer I got 6 months ago, has not given me one bit of trouble. |

So the verdict is in, 120hz makes a difference. It actually does what it it is supposed to. I was at my friends again last night that has a 120hz Samsung. I was there a while ago, and everything looked too smooth but I had chalked it up the source. Last night we switched from blue-ray, TV, DVD, and everything had the same smooth feel to it. It was almost too smooth. Very strange that it felt that way. It looked like the video had been sped up, but in fact was running at the normal speed.
The other thing, I think Blue-Ray might be too much quality. We were watching parts of Spiderman 3, and it was so clear that you could see all the flaws in the special effects. I could see all the layering, with green screen, actors, props, and injected CG. You could actually pic apart each aspect and how it was put in. I know Sony considered that a flagship movie, and threw all the money they had it, so it was not bad special effects.
When I spring for a big large LCD, it will be 120hz, no doubt in my mind.
One more thing: Viewing tv on my monitor at 120hz also makes a difference. It is not as nice as the Samsung LCD, but it is smoother than regular TV for sure. |

120Hz is bad when you are trying to play NHL 08 on a PS3.
NHL 08 on the PS3 is such a ty port, I believe it runs at 24fps max. The game becomes so choppy looking that it is unplayable.
That said, the PS3 and all EA Sports games that are ports. |

Spiderman 3 looked like dog crap. There are a hundreds of bluray transfers that crush it...
Agreed also about the ps3 port of NHL 08. I have both the 360 version and the ps3 ...,they don't even look like the same game... |

120hz is supposed to help most with 24fps sources. 120/24 = integer (5), and that is why they chose it. Other forward thinking LCD's used 72hz, which is 72/24=3.
So it has nothing to do with 120hz, just a ty port. |

| My gf and I bought a 46" Samsung from Futureshop early July and unlike the other TA who is hating his, I absolutely love my TV. Before I chose the Samsung I had my heart set on the 46" Aquos but at the store they had this and the Samsung side by side and I was comparing the 2 and it seems the Samsung's colours were just a bit more crisper and detailed compared to the Sharp. |
