Your religious upbringing.
Your faithfulness to Islam.
Your opinion of Sharia law, and it's context in Western society.
Your opinion of this incident.

Any anecdotes or amusing doodles would be a nice touch.

My personal take on this is when you come to a new country where your culture/customs arent practiced the way it does from the country you came from, you should let your childern decide for themseleves what they want to do with there own image and how they want to live....Religion shouldnt be forced on to someone it should be something that you do when you feel like doing it from your heart.

Your religious upbringing?

I was brought up in liberalish household where my mom is like hardcore muslim and dad hardly prays LOL.....Im like him....I was born in Pak but never lived there I was raised in U.A.E and lived in the middle east for like 14ish years.....Im not a hardcore muslim myself but i have huge respect for it.

Sharia Law depends on different variables....Right now whats happening in the world people blowing up and killing others in the name of Islam isnt Islam or atleast not the one I practice...Im sunni .;)

I don't think they are making this a Muslim issue. Very few murders occur in Mississauga over the course of a year, so it is strange to see it in the news. I believe they are just giving a motive for an unexpected, and unusual case. In this case, the motive seems to be a disagreement over religious views.

It does not seem the media, or our society is 'afraid' of Muslims here in Canada. Yes, I have heard of it in the States, but it seems that most people here understand that it is a few bad apples which spoil the lot, as is the case in most situations, regardless if they include religion or not.

On the way to work and home I heard well over 5 times "Muslim Honour Killing" When this was first reported this was already an awful murder and a theological question as to whether this was or was not a murder linked to Islam. It has since been upgraded by the media, as a MUSLIM honour killing.

I am sorry that we disagree on the ever growing, yet "not as bad as the Americans", Fear of all things Muslim.

However if you cannot see that our media is beating the same fervent anti-muslim drum as American media then I cannot help you. The sooner you realise it, and others do; the closer we are to resisting it.

You've "heard of it in the States", being unsure of that reality almost immediately voids your ability to claim that you know anything about this. By living in Canada, having a TV, radio and the internet should make you an expert, by default, of this BLATANT truth. The thing you've "heard of in the States" is the reason why they are in Iraq, wanting to fight in Iran, abusing possible 'criminals' in Cuba...to name a few.

Ironically, your post contains the same sort of over-generalizations that you rail against.

Opinion. It's mine...have a go at what is wrong with what I said and we'll, discuss because at this point it's only ironic if you are right, and since you aren't, its not.

None of the articles I read online stated anything about a honor killing. I guess that was only happening on rich media outlets.

Calm down. When I stated "heard of it in the States", I applied no degree of action, only that I knew it happened. The fact that I even know of it, allows me to say it happens too often. As for my knowledge of current world history, you may not want to base it on a single purposely cautious sentence.

Yes, there is a huge difference in Canada, in the way Muslims are treated. When I said, 'it seems to me', I was stating my opinion based on my experiences here. I do not know a single person that is actually scared of Muslims, and pays any attention to the negative, over zealous news reports. Maybe I just associate with level headed people, but those are my experiences here, and I am thankful for that.

God can be a moon, but he's not a moron. if he was a moron, he would never have had the intellect to create the universe? not being religious or a prick to you or anything, just objective.

Please take YOUR uneducated comments somewhere else.

SOURCE

See also Greek and Roman Mythology, douche.

And pardon me for making a joke. I'm sorry if you didn't think it was funny, but when someone says something like 'your ing moon god', I'm bound to either comment or clarify.

Educated people make jokes that others laugh at, I can't say the same for you if you need to sit there and apologize for your so called joke. Educated people also don't need to revert to name calling (Calling me a douche doesn't really give you much credibility). You didn't clarify anything in your post previously, and while Iam not religious calling god a moron doesn't really give you much points on the IQ level.
