I find it hard to come to terms with the idea that the hijab or other religious-based disagreements are the main component to this disturbing story.
I think this is a horrifying example of a disfunctional family and a man who has serious psychological problems. |

That's a gross generalization. When I read the "obstruction" part I understood it as the boy getting in the way of the police to stop them from taking his father away which is obviously the wrong thing to do, but I don't know how I would react in such an emotionally charged situation.
I was raised in a family where discipline was a big part of exerting parental control, but I remember if I was ever there when my sisters were getting slapped by my Mom, I would try to protect them, and they did the same for me, when I was getting the shoe, to the point where my siblings and I would get a few shots for getting involved. lol it's not as bad as it sounds, but I'm just giving an example from personal experience about how I would definitely try to stop my father if I was the brother in this story.
However, none of us know if the police were using excessive force to arrest the man (and if so as a son I might get involved; I have no idea how I'd react). You don't know the facts and instead you're just adding fuel to the fire, by quoting an opinion and saying things like "this" (ie. quote) don't make the news...well it DIDN'T make the news because THAT IS NOT the news!!! Instead you generalize. tsk, tsk! :mad: |
