Is it bash the religion week on TA?
Seems atheists are running amok.
I've asked this in other threads (not TOTA), but yet to get a satisfactory answer.
What is different from philosophy and religion? Both are about ideas. And in the name of ideas, humans do stupid things.
God, capitalism, Flying Spaghetti Monster, whatever. They are all ideas.
To bash religion only, becaus it's convenient and others are doing it isn't exactly fair.
Islam does not say kill your daughters because she didn't wear a headdress. I challenge you atheist types to find where in Quran says to kill your daughter for not wearing a headdress. |

Fine Yohan, should we make a list then of every idea/concept imaginable and give a thumbs up/down on its credibility? Why is it so hard for you to connect the dots between religious controversy and the opinions stated in this thread? Is religious zeal not a topic people are allowed to voice an opinion on? |

I don't have a problem with people wanting to discuss religion.
I have a problem with comments like 'religion is root of all troubles' or 'the world would be better without religion' without making a strong case. Or blame everything on religion, without at least taking a look on the other side. (hence why I made a comparison between religion and philosophy)
Hell, I like to debate as much as the next guy, but this 'she's a witch! Burn her! Burn her!' mentality is rather... annoying

that's true
but some believers twist religion the way that it would fit their own believes and ideas
then again, the man did not proclaim (yet?) that he killed his daughter in the name of his religion... will he say that by uncovering her head she dishonored the family? I don't know..
this is just so sad, and bizarre at the same time :(

So every time someone voices an opinion they have to back it up to you with a "strong case"?

Historically speaking, I thought Britain was West, and China was East. As NA was born and integrated as a colony, they also became the west.
