The issue isn't whether or not you should be dependent on your parents if they don't mind; the issue is how much would you bitch and complain if that funding was cut off. |
If my dad told me he would stop paying for the school I have left to finish (2 more years - so far he's paid for 4) I would not know wtf to do --- I would probably have a nervous breakdown and feel like my life was over. Then again, I am very obsessive when it comes to my education AND I work my ing ass off and my whole family knows how seriously I take my education. <--- something I think Barb needs to show her parents |

| Maybe she needs to explain to her parents that lesbians don't transmit aids. Just leave out the scissoring part. :) |

Then you're every bit as inept as she seems to be.
Here's something that may be of interest to you and good old Barbo: some folks haven't had their parents pay for any of their education.
Shocking, right?!?
Here's the kicker though: I manage just fine. :) |

Yeah I have to agree with Rob. If you really wouldn't know what to do, then you haven't learned .
You've insinuated how smart you are many, many times. Surely you wouldn't have a problem getting a scholarship/bursary.
Or you could just, you know, save your own money or get a student loan or something. |

| And for the record, threads like this aren't about "who likes who" or anything like that - it doesn't matter if you're a raging pseudo-dyke trying to piss off her parents yet still asking for a handout or a serial rapist trying to maintain his cover as a library assistant in the South of Wales; if you're whining about this kind of , you really haven't learned a ing thing and absolutely deserve to be mocked. |

This is not, in any way, to be taken as a commentary on your parents or anyone's parents in this thread:
Instead of buying a huge house to show off to our family back home or dropping dollars on a new car, my father invested his money in us, that is, my sister and I. He brought us up pretty damn strictly and always made sure we took everything school-related very seriously.
The last thing my dad ever bought me was probably the Spice Girls CD when I was 14. My parents give me absolutely no money for anything but my education. I woke up at 5:30am every weekend for 6 years to work in a coffee shop lol... my school is my life and my dad knows it. He's told me that without the results I achieve, he wouldn't pay for .
So hold your sarcastic tongue and holier-than-thou attitude plz |
