Haha, not quite. I actually love my job - I run a 10-day leadership development conference in DC. The Conference runs from 7 AM to 11 PM daily, and I'm in charge for the duration, but I usually have to stay up working an additional 2-3 hours nightly in order to prepare for the next day's schedule. The only really sucky part is that I'm on call at night as well, so there were times when my phone rang at 4 in the morning because somebody was feeling sick or whatever.

Ah ok, that's probably not as bad as it sounds, because those 17 hours include meal times and your bed is probably 2 minutes away from work, yes?
For me, the worst thing about long weeks is the hour commute home when you're just too tired to drive, and then making dinner and doing chores when you get home.

Haha, well... I skipped a lot of meals, though they were supposedly provided for me. But yeah, bed was a quick elevator ride away, so when I finished work at 2 AM my head was on my pillow by 2:10.

not true. you can get a job bartending or waitressing. I worked 12 hours a week when i was at school in toronto and made 400 a week. you can easily survive off that (you might need to leave that apartment, and yes, you can get much cheaper.
