I wish I could tell you it sucks, but I can't.

I never had that experience of my parents paying for anything, really. I have had jobs since I was in high school, and while I never had to pay rent when I lived with my parents, I had to pay for food, university, going out money, etc.; you get the idea.

I think it is good for you and for your generation. This generation seems to think everything is entitled to them. Like previous posters have said, welcome to the real world.

so nothing amazing.. but i had a deal with them that if i was in school and doing good I could be wherever I wanted.. and I did good .. so meh

ps. bas.. i have a condo on hold for me in LA if I decide to go there next, which may be the choice I have to make if I don't want to be disowned.. so you boys may be seeing a lot of me :p

You have a condo "on hold" in LA (which I'm assuming comes with the deal that you need to go to school out here) and you're complaining about leaving Toronto? You're nuts, I don't want to hang out with you anymore :o

also...lose the parents. i mean it's one thing to be like, "oh my parents are so annoying, bla bla bla" but for them to try and set you up on dates with guys and have zero regard for your choice in lifestyle and sexual preference is just wrong. you need to show them you are serious and you are who you are. they either accept it or they don't have a daughter.

that's how i would do it, but good luck with it all.

Yeah, can't really relate either. I've always had to pay for everything, plus I pay monthly to live with my mom, in a house which I partially own (about 15% is my money), plus I cook, clean, etc. Probably gonna move out next summer, which isn't something I view as a big step.
