| Yeah why not.
This is called the Hangovertrack, and i use only one specific synthesizer for the sounds in this one.

Just something i made this morning for fun, as i heard some awesome stuff when i was out last night. :toothless
EDIT: Just had to make another track too:

Arrise my pretty. Nectoo..ferata.. *caugh* feerdrr. Evil Dead 3? Anyone?
Anyway, check out this thread for some comparisons of hardware/softawre. Pretty close. But, basically, wherever the software fails, hardware picks up. As far as the sound goes, at least.
It can be said that software makes up for its slight lack of sonic quality with its ease of use, price, and not having to insure lots of studio gear...

Hardware nowadays? Or hardware 10 years ago?
There's a huge difference there. Nowadays hardware sounds extreamly weak and plastic. Leading companies like Roland reproducing classic synths, but all digital components = WEAKNESS.
Like those fake plastic Moogs, and that pathetic remake of the great sounding sh101, the 'digital' sh201 ( not worth 1 euro!)
I can understand that when you are 20 years old, you think it has to sounds that way, but I assure you, 15 years ago it sounded all a lot better. The 'adventage' that you have now, automating everything, can't compete with the great sound of older products.
Once in a while you have an exception, but its quite embarrassing when you visit the music stores today.
Software: - I always used cubase,so nothing wrong with that.
- Softsynths? Haha, thats really a joke, they all sound terrible, but ok, what do you expect? Software generated sounds will still sound ty in another 25 years I guess. As long you don't send them thru expensinve analogue tools they are useless.
- Plugins. Some can be used, but basic effects like reverbs, chorus, flanger and so on can't be done properly with software plugins. Test a hardware lexicon reverb effect with crappy WAVES reverbs, you'll see what a mean.
But,like I said, a lot has changed. When I started I had to invest more than 50000 euro to make a houserecord (trance didn't existed yet :happy2: ), and now you can make something with just yr pc, a good soundcard and a bunch of cracked software/plugins.
BUT : Cheap musicmaking = cheap sounding music
SO,when you are planning getting signed with a major label, you wont make it that way. But when you are just a hobbiest,go ahead. |

| The difference between hardware and software is terminology. |

| i think he's just talking about how much he had to pay for all of his gear and probably studio time etc. prob had to pay an engineer etc. producing was not cheap 10 years ago and beyond which is why only the serious (which usually meant the truly talented) producers were in the business. I know this is all common knowledge just throwing it out there. |

| Hardware IS better generally but now with companies licensing their code for VSTs the difference is getting smaller. For example you can have the Virus power-core synth http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...8#ht_3083wt_941 for much less than the hardware which is still going to sound absolutely superb! |
