no but i think it might be a little closer to home with the blacks because they easily have living relatives (close ones too like aunts and uncles) who experienced it. makes a difference. i wasn't really comparing the severity of the 2 events...just the time difference.

maybe....maybe not

Well it depends. If you're talking segregation rights, then it is not just blacks that didn't have their full citizen rights, but also women - white women, who fought alongside the black men for their rights. However, since slavery ended so long ago there cannot possibly be any living relatives of slavery - so they can let that go. Slavery was banned in 1865 by the Thirteenth Amendment - the Holocaust is considered to have started in 1933 and continued through 1945 - only 64 years ago.

It's only 20 years difference! There are still lots of Jews with numbers tattooed on their forearms.

That said, I do think that people focus way too much on the Jewish aspect of the 1940's holocaust (lots of people other then Jews were included in this) and way too much on the 1940's Nazi holocaust in general... there have been many equally horrific chapters in human history; just never to group that went on to be so influential.

it doesn't matter though because racism is still extremely alive and there, just on the down low. and not only that, but it's increasingly popular among blacks hating on whites now. it's all just a big mess and no matter what laws they pass, there is going to be racism because of the scars and bitterness that relatives who experienced it will pass along to younger generations.

And you don't believe the same is true of anti-semitism?

of course. sorry i wasn't just talking about with blacks. i meant the "hate" gets passed down, no matter what generation and struggle it's in reference to.

That is correct. Even Germans were thrown in the camps. You didn't have to be a Jew to get put in the camps.

And you see less people running around in KKK capes, but a lot more running around with swastika's tattoo'd on them.

And a lot of black people I have met are extremely racist against white people - but no one hates on them for it.

So then what is? Please explain as none of us are clear on what you are referring to.

"Zionist" is a term used too loosely by the jew-hating organizations. Here's a few examples... I've been on campus watching an arabic 'documentary' (haha) on Jews and Judaism, although the Arabic word Yahud (Jew) is used, the English subtitles read “Zionists”. At the recent protests, I hear Yahud when spoken amongst themselves, but when speaking english on the camera, "zionists" comes out once again in its place. The word zionists is used by other groups as a fluffy way to legitimize their agenda. I was not talking about the words definition, but how it is used in propaganda. Martin Luther King made this observation himself and noted it.
