We bought a Pentax K100D Super last year and it is goddamn awesome. |
It was for my mom for Christmas, and she has a load of old Pentax lenses from the 70s and 80s.
We got the Pentax because she can use every single one of those old lenses on the DSLR.
I cannot tell the difference between photos taken with it and photos taken with more expensive cameras. Who gives a anyway, everything ends up getting touched up in Photoshop in the end. |

no. a better camera gives a better foundation. poor quality cameras will start with a poor quality image and, depending on how bad the image is, the final outcome could be crap as well. |

Looks perfectly fine to me. Also come on, everything can be fixed with Photoshop if you're good enough. Everybody knows that. |

im pretty sure most, if not all, photographers would disagree with your statement. |

I wish I heard better things about the pentex dslrs.
When I graduate Id love to buy a dslr and I LOVED my Pentax SLR. Plus I loved a couple of my lenses and would love to use them on my new camera.
I was looking at the K20 and for the most part it seems like a great camera. But so many reviews say its not very user friendly and it seems to be less of a camera for a high price. On a plus side I do love the color it produces.
I'll probably end up with a Cannon, but I will cry the day I sell my lenses for dirt cheap
ps. I miss film. |

I will then bow down to your superior photographic knowledge, as I am talking out of my ass here, hahah |

The issue here is not if photoshop can take a sub-quality pic and make it into an artwork, but how long is a photographer willing to spend sitting to correct each single picture, especially when a slow night easily produces a hundred shots.
The time I spend in photoshop with my latest camera is very limited compared to the SLRs I had before. Most of the time a picture won't require anything more than 0-5 seconds of work. |
