They'll drill off Washington and Oregon over the bodies of many.

Oil is useless. We need to tax the holy hell out of it till they are dead and put the earnings from that into nationalized nuclear power.

I like wind, solar is good too, but we have the technology, we have had it for 50 years, raised in our very own backyard Lews to leave oil behind. Nuclear power should have been the answer 30 years ago but the ing dumb ass NIMBY head women and hippy guys freaked out over politicized bull, more than likely funded by big oil.

Oil and the motor industries destroyed the American transportation and infrastructure network and slowed us compared to the rest of the world where they do not rely on oil nearly as much.

Its a sick addiction, its as bad as meth is to the individual.

Why are you lecturing to me about oil lol.

I don't even drive a car! I hate oil.

Uhhhh..... from the same article:

quote:
Not that the environmentalists are the only ones to blame. Not by far. But it is odd that they've escaped any mention at all. The other culprits are pretty obvious. It starts with BP, which seems not only to have had an amazing string of perfect-storm engineering lapses but no contingencies to deal with a catastrophic system failure.

quote:
ing bull excuse, looking for other people to point their fingers at to pass the blame along. "We didn't want to drill here! You made us! You forced us to do this!"

ing bull.

Is it really bull though? Why are we drilling 20 miles off shore and 5000 feet down, rather than on dry land where we've been banned for 30 years? NOT because of environmentalists!? They obviously aren't the only ones to blame- the questions being asked was, why don't they hold a shread of it?

They are drilling in the south because there is no group of local governments or people that want them to NOT drill there. Its the poorest, most uneducated and well beyond oil, worthless parts of the country. You think they are going to say no to oil jobs?

Its only because the more affluent and intelligent parts of the country know its ing insanely stupid to do it in their parts.

It is the environmentalists fault that they drill there, because they cant anywhere else, but its not their fault that this happened.

I smell the foul odor of elitism in that statement. I didn't realize it was about educationl pedigree. Dude, I didn't say it was totally the environmentalists fault that the explosion happened... I know they had nothing to do with the construction of the damn oil rig and its safety measures. The point is, look at the unintended consequences of environmental chic: more people are actually being affected now by a catastrophe happening far out at sea than if the explosion happened in Alaska's ANWR region where it's a barren wasteland the size of South Carolina.

Oil is involved in everything you do and have, from your clothing and cell phone to your computer and your grocery store being stocked. You'd be surprised at what types of businesses grow because of the investment derivitives from oil companies... or how many peoples' 401K's depend on the profitability of the oil companies; it wouldn't be uncommon at all for "green" companies like Starbucks or First Solar to have their employees' 401K's invested in Exxon.

I read the whole article. And yes, it's really, complete, utter bull. Environmentalists aren't to blame at all. Not one bit. Saying otherwise is just bull.
