Are you saying young kids don't go to raves and do drugs in other countries around the world, because they are allowed to drink?
I think if you can die for your country at 18, you should be able to have a drink in your country by 18. But I don't think that is going to steer kids away from doing drugs at raves. |

| when i attended this event for both days they didn't even check ANYONES id. i brought my id with me for nothing. the only time in which they asked for it is if you buy alcohol. other than that they didn't care for the 16 year old rule. |

| I've seen EDC on the news every night now in some various way / shape / form... always in a negative light. Can't be good for the event. |

I've been going to this event for quite some time and it seems to me that over the past 4 years it has grown out of control. I showed up to the Coliseum on Friday at 7 pm, and by the time I made it down to the Coliseum floor it was at capacity. They should try and take the event out of LA and maybe take it to an area like the Coachella Valley.
I just think bottom line EDC has out grown that venue and needs to be taken outside of Los Angeles.
Insomniac needs to start thinking outside of the box.
As far as 1 death and around 100 taken to the hospital, I would agree and say that's a pretty good ratio considering the 185,000 people that attended. |

I think it would lessen their tendency to go all out at an event like this because they don't get to do anything like it any other time. I think it would lead to slightly more learned party kids and youth culture.
Though it's probably much too late now, it works over time. |

+1. All the local news channels are reporting every night on how bad and evil it is.
As for the drinking age thing I completely agree - that's why people go so ape in college for booze, becuase it's usually (for most) unaccessable to them. It could be why illegal and prescription drug use is so heavy amongst teens (pharm parties etc) as that's not difficult to get whereas alcohol is.
For instance, in europe, or at least England, we were all bored with getting drunk and there was no mistique to it by the time we hit 18, let alone 21.
Having said that, they will NEVER change the drinking age here. I just won't happen. I do think they should make it 18+. Even if they do it for their own sakes because a minor dying is a differnt bag altogether than a legal adult.
Anyway, all this aside, I actually couldn't believe the pictures of all the kids easily climbing the fence to get in. Glastonbury has a perimeter 10 times the size and hardly anyone is able to get in without a ticket.
Pretty bad display of security and management. |

| 18 Legal Drinking Age was the main reason why Rosarito used to pop before. Everyone used to go there to get drunk because they couldn't do it on this side of the border. |

Man speaking of, I went down there last weekend and it was a in ghost town. The tourism has really dried up, really sad! |
