It's truly sad man. If only all my knowledge could be confined to textbooks, focus groups, and seminars.... maybe I'd have a better perspective. F this real world experience bull! :p

The two of you sound like the male version of angry lesbians - only with vaginas on the mind instead of your own cocks.
Yes, I can only suggest that these issues of sexism that are allegedly so deeply rooted in our society are on their way out, based on my life and what I have seen and read and experienced.
Maybe you're right in assuming that my opinions on this matter come from my lack of exposure to "how the world really works" (excuse me while I barf from being condescended to) but I have studied at 4 different Universities in 3 different countries, held a vast ing variety of jobs (several of which were "male-dominated"), and I've recently been catapulted into a small sector of the business world.
My conclusions, as earlier stated, still stand.
Perhaps open your minds to the idea that these issues of sexism are on their way out.
Lest you ing perpetuate them with your pig-headed attitudes.
Sexism? closed minded??? lol... is it sexist to describe the characteristics of women and situations that exist? Ania, I wasn't saying YOU are one of those, or being directly condescending to you. Jesus, the females in here are taking everything personal, as if I'm speaking directly about them. And even if said issues of sexism in the workplace are on their way out, that doesn't mean they don't still exist!

I approve of advocacy based on its merit, and, unfortunately, the overwhelming bulk of feminism is sophistry.
I wish it weren't, but feminists don't seem to be very receptive to constructive criticism. At least, not from men.

Kevin, look at the way you responded to my post.
You weren't trying to share your knowledge or enlighten me - your main concern was letting me know that I am naiive and was barely in high school when you were in your big business land.
You may as well have said "Run along child, let the men speak"
The reason I'm reacting to your suggestions about career women is because I, too, am a woman in the process of establishing my career.
ing right it's a dog-eat-dog world. Leave the genitals out of your argument and I have no problems with it.
Have you ever encountered a man who went for what he wanted in his professional life? Do you think he's a bad father because of it?
Has he lost some sort of ability to comfort his child because he's determined to knock others down in an attempt to ing provide for his family?

Its kinda like you're, your own worst enemy, with feminism
I think before feminists demand respect from others, they should first demand it from themselves :toocool:

There's nothing remotely fresh about your viewpoints.

Wrong, that's how you took it, not how I said it. "I've been in the workplace since you were 14 and it's not a secret that women like this exist" means just that- no 'tone' involved. Doesn't me having 9 years in the business world make it possible that I may see things/know things that you don't? Even so, am I really off base by saying some women can't balance their personal lives with career, when they devote 90% of their time to career? Am I wrong to say that some women overcompensate by trying to prove themselves against their male counterparts? You are acting like I'm speaking of some alien being that doesn't exist.

The common mistake all you women seem to be making in your argument against me is responding as if I'm making blanket statements about all women... plus indirectly saying the same doesn't apply to men. You couldn't be more wrong, and I have pointed this out several times. I keep saying "some women" and "the specific type of woman I'm referring to is..." and "in no way does this mean the same doesn't apply to men, but I'm focusing on this particular type of woman because it's a thread about feminism".
Once again:

My God... I just can't believe how wildly defensive the women in here are getting, when I'm not even talking about them personally. You can't deny that the type of woman I described exists. Pointing that out doesn't make me sexist.

It's ironic when women advocate for equal treatment and then get upset when men don't do chivalrous things like give up their seat on a crowded subway or bus
*edit* ultimately though, men and women are not equals, but are compliments of one another. Things may seem rotten for women am but everything moves in cycles. The earliest societies on earth actually held women above and in domination of men as their gathering (and eventually farming) skills provided much more food than the hunting skills of men. Eventually the tides turned and men became dominant, and most likely they'll turn back at some point, placing women at the forefront again, and when that happens God help us all :nervous: :p

That's nothing. They cry "equality" but want all the benefits of being a woman too. Women always get preferential treatment in court (especially in cases over child custody), they get away with that a man wouldn't get away with (eg. any sort of encounter with a police officer). Ever hear of any of these feminists protesting for fair treatment in those situations? Hell ing no.
I have the utmost respect for anyone that respects themselves and works hard to achieve their goals, man or woman. Those crying about being oppressed by the white male can off. The only people holding them back are they themselves. I have no sympathy for those sorts of people, and I sure as hell don't wanna hear any of their whining.
