Western society doesn't need people who think.
We need slaves who goes to work, pay their bills, go shopping on saturday and visit family on sunday.
How does WL helps them? Hence the apathy.
9 years and 2 wars later after 9/11, I bet most americans can't locate Afghanistan or Iraq on a map. |

Oh wow.. what a joke. If there's a hint of credibility in next year's 'World Press Freedom Day', then they should award the 'UNESCO Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize' to Julian Assange. |

while i generally agree with your sentiment, but come on. you have details of every person's lives to judge whether it's boring or not? |
Im not saying every person in this city is ignorant but I would say most are unfortunately based my own personal observations. Again I bring the G20 as an example. I was shocked and disgusted how almost anyone I knew didnt gave a about what has happend during the that weekend. All I heard was "the evil blac blocs this the evil black bloc that" and many failed to see the big picture. |

Well, this disinterest serves some of these US 'slaves' right. A large part of their deficit is attributable to the unwarranted war in Iraq. Higher taxes will mean that even the insular existence that you described is going to be directly affected in the coming years. |

They suspended most types of payment already, and stole the donated cash while they were at it. The only way to donate money now is through wire transfer. I am telling you, they have Wikileaks by the balls but I sure hope that they don't give up. There will be mmore donations, today I sent my first donation of 50 bucks :)

Spasibo! Some people on here can't stand me, although I avoid personal attacks. I am much more fun in real life. On forums I am just very versed and opinionated. Yeah, very nostalgic about the youth - all those Russian/Soviet cartoons and movies you can think of ... I've been watching KVN (Клуб Весёлых и Находчевых ) all evening on Youtube :)

it's scary to me how little the everyday person seems to know about this scandal... I'm like "yo the wikileaks thing is so interesting", and the typical response seems to be "is that like wikipedia? why what's wrong with it"
:( |
I know the feeling. I try to bring this up or whatever is most recent about it with other people or friends and nobody is really following it. Boggles my mind that people can't see the (potential) significance of this. |

Wow, how ironic!!! We need to have Noam Chomsky present to comment on this. When it comes to freedom of press, America is very piss pathetic. = "Manufacturing Consent"
People just don't give a , the new generation especially. They are too busy watching Jersey Shore and texting each other 100 times a day.
