I love the talent LMD brings to Circus. It's DJs I never got to see in Atlanta, because only the "top 20 DJs" go to ATL, all the others ignore it.

Then again, if Circus had a big name every now and then, it would help increase the crowd for the smaller names, too, I'm sure.

I'm just happy there's a club that plays trance every single weekend. Pretty rare these days in the US.

It's all about supply and demand. Simple economics.

so its a catch 22.... the djs don't want to play there due to bad lighting/sound... so they won't get the huge crowds that go to Avalon or elsewhere b/c they can't book talent that draws those kinds of #s

I thought all the techno/house people liked it dark and no bull. Do all the "underground" parties have massive lighting rigs? I know Digweed said his favorite club only has candles along the back bar for lighting. Or are you talking about what it would take to make Circus a trendy Hollywood club?

And Circus's sound is good IF (and thats a HUGE if) it gets a sound engineer who knows what the he is doing. They FINALLY put back the old monitors in the old DJ booth and it sounds pretty good.

This is true. The reason less-known trance acts never came to ATL is because they couldn't fill a club. Cosmic Gate came to town ONCE and the place was damn near empty. It was a weeknight, but still.

Ultimately people want to be at "the cool place to be", and while music is important, especially to people like us, to the average club-goer it's only part of the deal.

If Circus could book people like Markus Schulz or Gareth Emery just once every couple of months, it would make the other events more popular just by turning it into the "place where the good DJs play" to newer trance fans.

You're right, though, it starts with the sound system. Circus's system is way better than anything in ATL, and it's an EAW system (I think), it just needs to be arranged a little better.

There's an ambiance that needs to be set in a club atmosphere which is completely different from that at an underground event.

Not really. An attention to detail would bring back the headliners, which would bring the patrons back in droves.

Wasn't 4 score at circus sometime this year, sideroom? or was that underground heros? I might be wrong.

Maybe I'm confused on this ambiance thing but the only ambiance the main room at Avalon has is cracked out rat hole IMO.

Yeah, for SVD, I saw this one guy dancing in just white socks all over the floor, and i'm talking about early, like 30 mins after guestlist opened. You tell me what kinda impression you get when you haven't been there in 4 years?
