the ONLY reason these people are making an effort to fix this, is because it was on the news, people are freaking out about nye being ruined, and threat of a class action suit.
If they ever wanna throw a party around here again, they'd better do something.
Dont kid yourself for a second, that they wont be making ANY money on friday. The bar sells drinks.
And dont kid yourself that they care about people before money. they dont.

i wasnt too pleased with his EM either. some parts of it are good but theres lots of filler, probably just playing to the mainstream crowd really.
his mix on Laidback Lukes Super You & Me album is very good though. |

So if blame needs to goto anyone it would be as you said the people for not behaving properly (his fan base is young/mainstream though so you can anticipate that on NYE) and whoever arranged for the security at the event. Also saying "more tickets at the door" was a huge mistake for a NYE event as people often leave planning for the last minute. I bet that 1 line alone brought a couple hundred people to the event looking for tickets that didn't exist. But when you look at the reputation and monetary damage the event promoters are suffering for this it's pretty harsh
All I know is I respect security at a lot more venues after the NYE show. I'd say deadmau5 in KH on Canada was a comparable crowd (young, antsy and unfamiliar with raves) and the security handled that bastardly crowd flawlessly. |
well, security is usually brought in by the venue from my understanding and is hired in regards to how many people they expect to attend. would you blame a venue that has a 300 person capacity (and thats all they have security for) when suddenly 1200 people showed up at the door and started to push/shove their way inside causing injury? security can only do so much at that moment. sure, they could try to yell "guys, calm down or you're not getting in!" but that generally doesnt when when you have a mob of people. the other option would be to put security at the front to try and to push the people back but that would never work either.
i understand that people are mad about their NYE being ruined but that was a circumstance beyond anybody's control. |
