well, TA is only one part of toronto's party scene. dont assume that TOTA's are experts at anything. avicii has actually blown up huge over the last couple years. most people here live under a rock of only one or two genres that they listen to. |

What an interesting read.
I Feel bad for the people who wanted to party on NYE.
Had a feeling something like this would eventually happen at sudbury.
I can safely say that i have worked with and organized more events
than anyone else in Toronto with Sudbury99...and with that comes some experience working with the owners...who have changed 3 times in the last 10 years. The new management are not the brightest Crayons in the Crayon Box Lol.
The real Capacity in the Old Main Room is about 824 People.
The Capacity of the newer side of Sudbury (ie the Gym/Hall Side is a little more at around 900 if all 3 sections are opened up.
Sudbury back in the day never had a liquor licsense so back then we didnt follow Capacity rules or really any rules at all.... :)
But lately Sudbury has been using a Makeshift Catering Licsense which allows for sales but is rather shady and not really the ideal sollution for doing a large scale dance event.
I have a feeling there is way more fault on the venue hadeling the night then the promoters...as Security...staff and everything else
is essentially controlled by the venue...the promoters can only do what they are told.
I personnaly did a test run of the Venue back on October 1st to open the place back up with My Swayzak Party...which did quite well in Attendeance but in my mind the Venue was unfit for Further events
and many factors made me think this place would never be able to recapture its original Magic.
Rip Sudbury...its gone..1 month till those condos are up and its finished if not already..lol |

Interesting getting the perspective of someone who's worked with them before though. I think as the facts came out on this more fingers went towards 99 Sudbury. Especially when they didn't do much to say "sorry" compared to what the promoters and Avicii did. |

Still haven't got my money back from sowedance!! Ridiculous!!
We should do something... Maybe write horrible reviews all over the Internet about 99 sudbury until they pay? Or find out who is behind sowedance and...

Old news...
-promoters behind the event were sorted out
-most people got refunded
-free show at the docks appeased the majority of the crowd
-99 sudbury was already dying and this event just sped up the process
Why didn't you get refunded? |
