That much for the day event?

http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/1C0046F383BE569C?artistid=1621032&majorcatid=10001&minorcatid=201

Whether it's worth it or not, means the spirit of the event is lost, IMO. And also are DJs going to get a cut? Charging $10 to cover costs and all that is one thing for DJs, but not sure if they'd be happy if they aren't getting a cut and they are charging $23 ($30 with fees) if 100,000 people show up. DJs typically play for free during the day event from what I recall.

I noticed GoVentures has a float. No lineup yet (other than Reza).

Yeah, I am a bit underwhelmed to be sure.

No Pink Mammoth, Local Love, Listed????? Oh, BADNB & Solid Gold Jacuzzi?? All of my regular stops, gone. FAIL

Though Sacramento House Music, I am looking forward to. There are some good crews here and whether or not its going to be a mixture of them is TBD, I guess. Hope it is heavy on the United Vibes guys! They are all good cats that bang it out!!!!

So for us it'll be:

Opel & Opulent Temple
Temple Nightclub
Dirtyhertz Productions, Matique SF, Bassyx
Sacramento House Music.

Still plan on having a great time, however and who knows, maybe somebody new will blow me away.

Might throw a beer on the Dubstep float if it wasn't a waste of a perfectly good drink. j/k

I was already set on going to Nocturnal for sure, but my instincts are telling me this is the party to be at. I haven't been to NoCal in ten years, so I just wanted to get some feedback before I decide to drive for 7 hours.

For those of you party animals that frequent both NoCal and SoCal parties, how different is the Parade+AfterParty going to be from a SoCal massive, or in this case, Nocturnal?

Do both, just fly out of Oakland airport... haha

18+? I like this at my age but was looking forward to taking my younger cousins to this to let them be able to enjoy some EDM since it is now turning into a genre of music you must be 18 and over to enjoy. Shame.

I don't think anyone can know how this event will be for sure since it has been moved from the streets of SF/Civic Center to a stadium parking lot in Oakland. Also of note: 18+ only (that would remove half the crowd from last year - there were A LOT of kids.) Also - no cameras? I wonder if and how that will be enforced.

thats the thing - with this being the only all age or 16+ event left till todays news, those i introduced to edm were so looking forward to this since everything else has turned 18 plus regardless of indoor nightclub or outdoors. This entire genre is being encased now since EDC into something that isnt music but rather a palce for those over 18 to express themselves in ways they dont otherwise and the music is not music but something that goes side by side with the drugs we apparently all take. Sad.

Hope this changes but dont see so anytime soon.

Ha, if I had some extra change lying around I might but I'm pressed rt now so I have to pick one. Besides, a couple of the artists at LovEvolution will prob be at Noc on Friday, so I wouldn't want to see them twice :p

Both parties should be outdoors except the love after party. If you want to be at a overcrowded party, go to nocturnal. NorCal parties usually doesn't get as packed as the ones in SoCal (except etd. POP last year). I'm pretty sure you're already familiar with how Insomniac does their shows. SKILLS usually deliver. They had the whole main stage lighted up with lasers in 06 and 08. They throw out a lot of money producing the show. Not bad at all since they're not ballin like Insomniac. The parade is usually pretty packed since it was free previous years but no one really knows how it's going to work this year with the venue change. I want to say the after party will be fun but I'm very curious about how things are going to work out at the oracle.

My Wife got clarification on this yesterday from either Skills or LE: It is just a Ticketmaster thing and will not be enforced.

ok, this is sad for sure, but I will be going, I don't agree with the charges, but i'm pretty sure they needed this since they are probably charging for the lot.

Who is interested in caravan and carpooling. I usually rent a vehicle to go to this. Omar, this time is game time!

I'm not gonna complain. It's better than a whole lot of nothing. SF's been taken over by douche bags so be it. Oakland is not far.
