bigperf is right for an event like this when it comes to Carl Cox in regards to the official afterparty. He hasn't made a big splash in a long time and the main age group who would be going to the official afterparty don't really know who he is.
Plus his style is prob too mature for them. :p
He did the afterparty once years back, but had a super early set. Basically the opener. He then played at Ruby (I believe) later the same night. |

I'm willing to bet a large crowd would come out just for Carl Cox. |

It was free. That was my point. He was referring to skills float= parade.
Donations were not required until 2009, though I did donate during my first parade in 2008 when I walked in with capt kirk. That was a great year. Axwell at slide, kaskade at ruby and the parade during the day. |

Honestly I don't agree. Most of the more veteran partiers (cox's crowd) around the the bay aren't going to be willing to pay the huge ticket price just to listen to one "good" set and a whole ton of trance and commercial house, while hanging out with a bunch of 18 year olds at a party ending at 2am. If they did a whole techno room then *maybe*, but they did that at LE 08 with green velvet, SOS, and Christian Smith, and the room was dead most of the time from what I heard.
It's more likely that the techno crowd would head to clubs or UG's in SF proper. |

Id guess Skrillex or Rusko and Guetta and Laidback Luke
Not sure if they are booked already - could care less about them to put in that effort. |

It's going to be a good night no mater who the last two are...
Okay so its not in the city BUT when was the last time we bay area folk got to come together as one and dance our collective asses off?
I think it was the last POP at the Cow Palace...a long time ago never the less and definitely too long for a PLUR community like ours. |
