MR STROKE
Found some photos online-Ouch
(I would be really curious to hear a final head count if they release it)

Public response has been pretty abysmal so far- Facebook, here, other forums, personal friends all seem pretty down on this year. I really hope this isn't the end :(

Thanks for those pics.

Here is another photo that demonstrates just how lame Lovevolution 2011 was: http://www.imagebam.com/image/4a865c153068879

The organizers made a huge mistake in moving this event out of San Francisco. I hope they will admit their mistake and move it back to San Francisco.

So from reading all this chatter, it seems like it was similar to the original Love Parade 2004 when it was held at the AT&T Ballpark. If anyone remembers, the LP 2004 didn't have as big a turnaround as all the others, but it was still fun for all those that were there. By far, my favorite LP I been to.

In terms of attendance-Yes

but otherwise that first Love Parade was better-it had a real parade down market st, better location(right on the water) and it was free.

The Lovevolution will never take off and grow in Oakland. Whereas the Lovevolution grew each year in popularity in San Francisco.

The parade is a big factor. Having a parade in the streets of San Francisco drew people to the event. Whereas holding a "parade" in a parking lot in Oakland is just dumb.

If they keep the price down, I don't see the entrance fee as a major negative. Instead, the move to Oakland and the 18+ rule were the major negatives which killed the event.

It was similar in many ways...even the weather, but not as windy this year as it was at LP. That was 1 of my favorites as well. At that time it was a once in a lifetime deal, so that was a major attraction for some as well.

@ Steve26: The lack of a "true parade" was dissapointing yes, but they tried to keep it as similar as they could. I appreciated the effort. Do you really think the organizers were thinking no one would notice???? They did what they could with what they had and I had a blast.

The 18+ rule and ticket costs, while against the true spirit of the event, helped keep out the rif-raf of years past...which furthered our good time. I saw only smiles ALL day.

Also, the times have changed and so must we, not only as people, but as a culture. You have to adapt to the changes our culture goes through or GTFO. Don't be part of the problem, try helping out. Volunteer, do something. Next year, maybe try bringing your good vibes and memories of years past to help brighten someone's first time. Hmmm.

I'm not talking about Lovevolution. I'm talking about LOVE PARADE. That's the precursor to Lovevolution. Love Parade started early in the day somewhere near the pier and it followed a route along side the bay and eventually ended at the AT&T Park parking lot. That's the stadium where the SF Giants play. All the floats circled the parking lot until eventually stopping in their spots. The turnout was a much smaller than all the other years and by the looks of it, it seems like they had the same sound problems this year as they did that year. Back then all the float had smaller, mostly unknown talent that made the event special. The music was ace! I'm gonna dig up my pictures.

Woody: Please post some pics! I only have 1 from that whole weekend. At the Dax Presents UG on Friday.

Nothing from the rest of what was just an unreal time. Looking forward to quick stroll down memory lane!!

...and already looking forward to LE 2012...no matter the venue!
