It's a trickle down effect. The producers have to pay vendors,city permits,etc,etc, The vendors pass down thier overhead to the end users. In todays crisis economy Production costs can run into the tens of thousands. For a $25.00 ti...cket for an all day event featuring some of Northern California's Top Talent I think thats the Best Deal in Town. I spend over $50.00 just to party in the city for a few hours at one of the more popular night clubs with my girls. Between Gas , Bridge Toll ($5.00 ), Parking ($20.00) and a cover charge at the door ($15.00-$20.00) it all adds up . . . . For a $25.00 Ticket I'm so there ! ! ! ! ! |

I agree. I read the float application and a lot was based on past positivie particiaption. You can't tell me that those 2 especially didn't generate some of the best overall vibes/music.
Note: LE website says 20 flots but only has 17 on their page, so I am holding out hope for at least Pink Mammoth and Local Love.

Markus must have a super early set because he's playing in Vegas that same night. Would prob have to do southwest if he wanted to do OAK to LAS, though. He's used SW for LA/OC to Vegas before I believe, so not out of the question. A private jet could be a possibility too.
Maybe would say he could be playing at Marquee during the day, but he's supposed to be on the Skills float too. PLus he has his Vegas gig listed after the Oakland gig. |

I guess those hoping for a Markus show in SF later that night will be disappointed. I would have been surprised if it happened since he was here recently.
I wonder if any of the LE after party DJs will have a show in SF that night. |

A lot of DJ's that play for Skills have contracts that only let them play for events hosted by Skills. Not saying every dj does but there is a good chance that it won't happen :( |

I think your assumption is correct, Dave. He has "Marquee Pool" listed for Sept 3rd, and just "Marquee" for Sept 24th, so he's spinning there at night. So he'll do the float, then after party,_then off to Vegas. |
