Laidback Luke is also playing at Ruby Skye on Sep 24.

So guessing he's early at the afterparty too.

We would just like to dispel the rumor that Laidback Luke is not playing at Ruby Skye on September 24th.

What rumor that he is not playing at ruby skye? Dave t said he is, that's the only mention ive heard, no one is saying he isn't...

I do think they meant the other way around.

AM Only did, in fact, have Laidback Luke listed for both Oracle Arena in Oakland and Ruby Skye in SF for Sept 24. The Ruby Skye date was added sometime in the last week and well after when they posted he was playing in Oakland.

Don't see how them posting that constitutes a "rumor." That's far more substantial than a rumor. They documented the date on their site. It wasn't someone starting gossip.

Anyhow, AM Only has now removed him playing at Ruby Skye. So I guess it was either a mistake or someone got upset over it.

Don't shoot the messenger.

Kinda hoping he's not playing at Ruby that night, to be honest. If he's not, that puts Ruby back in my options bin.

Was hoping for someone with a bit more umph...maybe a night with CL in the main room (his date of 8/20 was removed...so maybe they bumped him for 9/24) and say like the Gents from Pink Mammoth upstairs in 414. That would be the perfect night IMO.

OR a Derrick Carter / Mark Farina double headliner, with Taj, Lindsay, & Co. upstairs.

Wishes, all, but one can dream!

Is there anything going on the 24th at night? It seems kinda dead compared to previous years. Just the official after party and Plump DJ's @ mighty?

As far as I know that's all that's been made public to this point.

Dirtyhertz @ Roe, I saw today.

I've been waiting for a Dirtybird party at Mezzanine, as they always seem to do something esp. w/ Claude Vonstroke's Makeovers tour going on right now.

Still...its 3 weeks away and really nothing out yet. Disconcerting to be sure, but I am holding out hope and know something will present itself.

A UG would fit nicely into my plans as well.

The logistics are extremely inconvenient for anyone else other than Skills to hold their after party. Most of the EDM camps are based in SF. One does have to question the wisdom of having the day event at Oakland.

I assume its the only spot they could get?

I do wonder why they couldn't hold this in Golden Gate Park? They hold a ton of events there including the massive Outside Lands Festival last month.

I'm definitely not going to this. The move to Oakland was a dumb decision by a dumb group of organizers and board members. The 18+ rule isn't fair at all. I didn't hear anything about banning cameras, but I wouldn't be surprised if they put together a policy like that.

And the parade, which was a major part of the event, is now a total illusion. A parade in the parking lot? Are they serious? You can't have a true parade in a parking lot, no matter how much we try to convince ourselves otherwise. A parade must be open to all, for all to see, on the city streets.

They will keep charging more and more money in subsequent years--the event has been taken over by the same commercialism that lovevolution pretends to speak out against.

It sucks that the S.F. officials wouldn't allow the event in the Civic Center, but there had to be a better alternative than Oakland.

Well at least you know what goes on behind the scenes! Are you on the board, or know anyone who is?

When an even grows, it will outgrow it's venue. This is why Love Parade came here in the beginning, It wasn't wanted in Germany. When they went back, they changed venues, and had a parade on the grounds. It was still a sweet event that would have continued had there not been a tragedy.

The people who really want to go, will shut up and ride bart for a few minutes if they want to go. How is it any worse than riding the bart to the civic center?

I am happy with the move, it will weed out the people who don't REALLY want to party and all the big babies.
